Prodigy just stopped working!!! Did the switch go bad? ( pics )

My prodigy just quit on me and i DO NOT have a backup ( aghhh i am screwed )

took it apart and dont really know anything about it, but looked at the switch and it seems one of the wires or whatever they may be called has broke loose right in the middle ( or is it suppose to look like this? )

No, it's not supposed to look like that. Have you turned in a ticket to puresmoker?

It looks like an easy fix though if you have a soldering iron.

have the slightest clue how to solder, guess i can run to menards today and pick one up? what do i need to buy? and how do i do it?

I put in a ticket, hoping they can just send me a pre-soldered switch...

Puresmoker will fix it. In the mean time, if you need it now and don't know how to solder, take it to a local TV repair shop. They should be able to fix it in a few minutes for cheap.

If you are in warranty they will probably replace the entire switch unit. The rubber housing has a bad habit of too much flex. The resister leads don't like to flex.

Yeah i am going to send it off Saturday, I am hoping they replace the switch rather then just tack together the wire that broke in half. Though i would think it would be best if they just sent me out a new switch rather then shipping back and fourth, but guess not....

That sucks about your Prodigy. But count your blessings...at least you have your first 510 to fall back on. Could be worse...alot worse...

Good thing you have a backup!

I just sent my Prodigy in for repairs. I don't know what's wrong with it and didn't want to go to the lengths that you did to troubleshoot, I left it to the experts.

I did however, buy a passthrough when I bought my Prodigy in August for that reason, to have a backup if/when my Prodigy failed.

Don't forget to put the Ticket email in the envelope when shipping back, as I did. It makes Casey have to micro manage the shipment. Sorry Casey!

Not a huge problem- I just like to be sure I know who the package is from because sometimes the outside packaging gets pretty damaged and I can't read the return address. But the good news is I got your Prodigy yesterday!

got it boxed up and ready to send out Monday, The spring has came off the bottom cap also, so hopefully that can be fixed to, not sure. Thanks!

One would think. I live on the West Coast, so you are miles closer than I. Also mine was only sent 1st Class, both ways.
