It doesn't surprise me with all the hype in the media proclaiming how much better smoking is than vaping. You'd think they might consider checking with a few long term vapors and moderating the propaganda. Sensationalism sells and everything else that makes money today is all that matters. I have responded in 2 threads on Ecf in the last couple weeks from people who were freaking out because they got a drop of eliquid on them and thought they might die or become seriously ill. I can just imagine the calls to the poison control center from scared people.

I dont get it either.... spilled juice on the skin but they are inhaling it... but even so spilled juice on the skin and not inhaling it.... or even nicotine patches applied to the skin ( patches deliver up to 21 mg an hour for 8 hrs) and opening up a patch and licking it can really do you in for a couple of hours... now that is one "sick feeling" I never want to experience again.... :)

......I notice that people freak out about everything now days ....it's ridiculous ......and causes the "Cry Wolf" syndrome (which I just made up) .....but what with the bozos at a certain "news" TV network, ( and I use the word news wrongly news implys that there's research and fact checking involved, not just putting people in a newroom setting and spewing hate and ignorance that they make up, does not make that news, no matter how much it "looks" like news ) anyway that group, and many other media print and broadcast, tend to go to the negative side and scream at the top of their lungs about every single little teeny tiny thing as if it was the end of the world

.....oh grow up people .....

and Bunnykiller, I like your tag line there ....heh

They don't mention that these calls are often from people worried because of the very kind of news story that then reports the calls and that the majority of them don't amount to anything.

I wonder how many deaths or severe poisonings have actually been linked to eCigs? I then wonder, how would that number match up to the deaths linked to smoking, alcohol consumption and even household cleaners (such as bleach). What about water? Or guns? Or the people behind the guns?

Maybe it's also worth pointing out (for the Vaping community at least, perhaps not for the journalists or big tobacco companies) that many incidences of poisoning or injury have occurred mainly due to the irresponsibility of the parents. How many do you suppose ignore the warnings not to leave the device charging overnight, or to keep nicotine, eLiquids and eCigs themselves out of the reach of children?

I've gone beyond getting worked up over it. I simply find it hilarious.

Strange how the media dont warn the public about the dangers of CHANTIX which is proven to cause suicides and mental illness and organ damage.CHANTIX is banned in a lot of countries but they still sell it.I wonder how a 5 year old child can get at ejuice anyway ,most juices are sold in child proof bottles and not kept below the sink like other more poisionus substances. And they say a child inhales ecigs ,i can just barely get my mech s to fire sometimes...LOL

BTW...latley here in Toronto when im vaping outside walking down the street im been having people running up to me telling me there ecigs are posion, the mainstream is winning,i am peed off big time, the way it looks now, smoking tobbacco is safer.Cn you believe how stupid most people really are....BRAINWASHED all the way.

Well, my boy got air fresher and did spray it directly on skin of my daughter. It did look very bad, and yes i did call poison control. Out of that call - we receive up too 5000 calls a year on this product, do not worry it not gona kill her. That's only one product from that company as far as they have hole line of home care products. And it's still on shelf.
But if it happens with any ecig related product it would be huge deal and sure - bun it! bun it! bun it!, go poison your kids with reg smokes, because someone makes a tons of money with it.

They dont give warnings to parents not to smoke tobacco in the same room as kids meanwhile the toxic fumes are killing them, the media,BT nd the govt are a bunch of lying psychopathical lying thieves.

They give parents warnings not to smoke in the same room as kids in the UK - there have been quite a few television campaigns to get the word out there about the damage it can do if you smoke in the same room as a child. Unfortunately, people don't like to listen to what others say very often. Parents know they shouldn't really but go ahead and do it. I know a lot of kids with asthma (including myself when I was younger) that have parents who smoke around them and are too selfish not to but there you are.

I actually remember my mum being told directly by a doctor not to smoke around me because of asthma but she didn't listen. When I confronted her about it I was just told "Well when I have a cigarette you go upstairs, then." Uhm. I'm not the one smoking?

Consider this for a moment, here in Texas we have had 758 deaths caused by car accidents on public roads. That's approximately 7.5 deaths each day. No one is trying to do anything to reduce that statistic. But if a child drinks some ejuice to vomits, oh my God! How many deaths have occurred because of improper ejuice consumption? None that I have heard of. Just some food for thought.

grimmgreen made a good point about this in a video. most of these calls are just people asking questions. the calls are logged as being regarded to e-cigs to a poison control center, but not due to an actual incident. they're perverting the stat and just leading people to think that it's something scary.

Mis information manipulation of words are the way ''they operate, lies and deception is the way govt works.

Holy crap! 2400 calls in 3-1/2 years!. I hope the CDC has the staff to man those phones. :)

Notice the play on words in that sentence folks. The author was very careful in not attaching a reason to those e-cigarettes calls... they could have merely been informational inquires about e-cigs in general. Whereas, the tobacco calls were about "exposure".

The CDC must be assembling it's budget proposal again.
