"E-Cigarette Research - Business Insider"

Just saw this today and while some parts looks quite promising, it is also a little scary to see how ignorant a lot of the people doing the testing are about our devices. The idea that you could limit power to an ecig in any way when coils can be made at will is simply untenable. That and the fact that they are using facebook to get a sampling of behaviors instead of boards like this is downright frightening as A LOT of the people who post on social media about cloud chasing speak like they have already suffered severe blunt force head trauma...

Nothing new really. Same old stuff. Biased, hand picked scientist doing biased research. They will crank their test devices the highest it will go and build sub ohms, which they know nothing about, produce unvapable vapor, let it run dry on liquid then base their results on the nasty chemicals that mess produces. I'm sure they will dig all through Facebook until they find some teens sub ohming at high temperatures too. They'll base their research on the minority of vapors, not the majority.

The promising part that I was referring to was that they are actually looking, and testing, instead of passing blind regulation based on assumption and total ignorance. 48 studies would be considered 48-too-many to most ANTZ members, so I am trying to focus on the positive here. Also, this is the community that they should be looking at, so I am hoping that other members can help spread the word and get the right information to the people organizing and running these tests. We've got one hell of a fight ahead of us, but at least the questions are being asked.

I'm sorry. But I Didn't see this Article to be very Informed or Balanced.

Didn't see much Talk about HRT. Or about How Many People have Successfully used an e-Cigarette to Quit Smoking.

Don't Get Me Wrong. I'm All For More Studies.

But when I look and the Biased Nature of the Studies of the CDC or some of the So-Called "Researchers" like Glantz or Prue Talbot, I question whether or Not any Real Science will be Obtained.

I read it as, unscientific tests are being concocted to confirm pre-existing bias. Combing Facebook posts? Laughable...

Good article, at least it didn't have that "tone" the NY Times piece had, now that Reynolds and Lorillard are in the ecig "game" we'll see and are producing funded research (take that for what it's worth) . Locally here in Houston at MD Anderson they've got some studies going on...so I'll watch those closely (I used to work there) right now Dr. Prokhorov is just advocating them "They're less evil than tobacco, but we're learning they're not entirely safe. They may help some people who cannot quit smoking any other way, but people should only try them after they've exhausted all the other smoking cessation aids, which have been studied and approved by the FDA."

I'm waited with vaped breath for how this all will unfold.:)
