I have some liquids that I think need steeping. I searched some and couldn't find much info on the proper method to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Here are the main questions I have:

- Do I need to leave the cap off the liquid, or let it sit with the cap on?
- Will putting the liquids in the fridge help or hurt the steeping process?

Thanks for any input.

IF the flavors only need to "combine" you can leave the lid on, if they're "perfumy" or taste like medicine etc. leave the lid off for a few days then check them. It is not a good idea by most views to put them in the fridge (water condensation will moot or destroy the flavors) Best place to steep is a cool (not cold) dark place I use a cabinet for that.

Also are you drinking lots of water. Vaping causes dehydration, sometimes a loss of taste and I drink 2 large glasses in the a.m. and 2 liters per day. Some vapers also experience a "loss of taste" in the first few weeks to a month. I had extra flavor on hand knowing that might be a problem and added accordingly.
I drink about the same amount of water as I always have (probably not enough), but I don't think this is my issue. Some flavors I have (such as Ms. T's Snickerdoodle and Volcano Chocanillahaze) are vibrant with flavor. Others (Ms. T's White Chocolate Mocha, CCV Werthers Orig.) taste very weak. I think if I were dehydrated everything would taste weak. I still have 8 or 10 flavors I haven't tried yet, but they sure smell good.

Thanks for the recommendation though, i will go fill up my water bottle now.

if you're vaping with an ego A/B/C type of tank you will have weak flavor as well. i.e. what you vape in makes a difference too.

For now I am using Smoketech DCC 1.5ohm XL Carto's on an eGo-T battery. I also use 510 LR atty's to test stuff out, but lately those have a metallic taste no matter what I put in them or how I clean them. And the constant leaking turned me off to dripping.

ah, then that's not it, i use the DCC's exclusively, they're (cartomizers) pretty on par with dripping atomizers in the flavor delivery department.

IMO Steeping helps few liquids. The only flavor strengthening you will get is from alcohol and water evaporating from the mix, if any was used - take off the cap AND the drip tip and leave it like that overnight, away from spills, skids, pets. That will also help overflavored or creamy juices with perfumey or flowery aroma. Other than that, in general steeping will not change a juice you don't like to one you like. Steeping can enhance a juice that is made with a diverse combination of flavorings especially any hand-extracted flavorings.

I found out of every 10 juices I tried there was usually 2-3 satisfactory and maybe one I liked a lot.

I don't recommend refrigerating them. Condensation, upon opening them, gets inside and can spoil the flavorings. I also don't recommend hot water soaking unless you're going to use them immediately. Heat can ruin the flavorings also. If time will allow you, sit them in a cool/dark closet or some place of that nature for 2 weeks and try again. Some flavors take longer but usually 2 weeks is sufficient.

I think it "all depends"; some are mixed after you order, if they get to the consumer in two days the flavors well may not have had enough time to "work together" anytime you get to select nicotine, pg/vg ratio we know those are mixed after the order is placed. I feel this is especially true with complex flavors (several ones used together) I had some come I hated and two weeks later were beyond good. Even the House Blend (best I have tried) got better during a week than when I first got it in the mail.
