I was wondering if the more advanced users could give us newbies tips for properly using the juice control on the ODY's and Penelope's.

How do you know if it is open enough? When do you adjust it? How often?

Do different juice mixes make a difference?

I know obviously when it floods to close it off, but not how to use it to its full potential.

thanks!

My personal experiens is: Fill it up. Vape on 1 turn, nope need more, vape on 2 turns.. suddenly need 3 turns.. going for a refill close it. Open to refill without opening juice control.. refill it. Try one hit without even opening juice control.. Flooded! Blow out into a paper towel 2-3 times.. try another hit. Nope still flooded! Blow 6-7 times into a paper towel.. Try a hit.. thats better. Hit 4-5 times more, open one turn vape on..

It works when it works, wish i knew why it keeps flooding on refills.. I dont overfill it or something like that.. And i keep it closed over night and when i wont vape for a while so thats not it either

It floods on refill because the pressure of closing the cap forces juice into the ceramic.

Take off the small top cap when you refill and put it back on after closing main cap. That should solve refill flooding.

As to the juice control you shouldn't have to fiddle with it while vaping. I can drain 7 mls of juice out of an ody full mode without ever touching it. Once you find the sweet spot for your juice/wick/vaping intensity combo it's fiddle free operation. On my main juice that's 4 twists, not turns, of the juice control.

what is your main juice makeup? You mean short twists?

It takes some getting used to, but try to open it a little at a time. I usually do a 1/4 turn on my Ody with Air Control 1/2 open. You'll need to play with it a bit as the vacuum created by various positions of the Air and Juice control make a difference. More air = less suction meaning you need the juice open more. It's more of an art than a science unfortunately and when you have multiple variables, (I.e. voltage, resistance, air control, juice control) it's a little trickier.

The Kir Fanis tank really helps too. You can see how big of a bubble you get after each hit. Makes it easy to dial in the amount of juice you want on the wick. Also after I fill, I turn the Ody upside down. The juice settles in the cap to expose juice control edge. I open the control to let the pressure equalize then close it again. Once I turn it back over I adjust for amount of juice wanted and leave it there. I don't get any flooding even if left overnight. The only time I close it is when I swap flavors to other Ody or Penelope. I use double wick 3mm in all of them.

Good topic! I'm a GG noob so this info helps!

Waiting for the 2nd revision of the Penelope Kir tank to arrive. Bye the way is there a make to make the Penelope fit a ggts without an extender?

You can use a stealth cap which is a 510 connector, but you lose air control. The extenders really are the best way to go unless Imeo does a native GGTS connector.

I highly recommend the Kir Fanis tanks for newbies as it really allows you to see what's going on.

I have had such bad luck with adapters that I would prefer just removing the catch tank and threading the pene directly onto the connector. Or if the parts are in stock you can use a UFS connector with the ggts controll tank and draw controll cap.

Thanks for all the juice control advice.

that being said, I still cannot figure it out. I open it a bunch of turns and it never really seems to flood. It almost tastes best when closed.

can anyone explain why that is? I have used genny's for a long time, and have heard that the flavor will be more pronounced on those, but is there a way to maximize flavor on these?
