What do you think Vocalek? Is it like taking mouth wash all day?

I am not sure about anyone else but the two germ carriers (kids) have brought two reallly nasty colds home this winter and my wife who does not vape got both of them. Me I got a slight cough (2 days) from one of the rounds of cold outbreaks and nothing from the other. People at work are hacking and coughing for the past three weeks and I am in close proximity to them and nothing has hit me yet. I probably just screwed myself by typing that but I do believe vaping has something to do with keeping those colds at bay. For what its worth I am heavy on the germ killer 80pg/2ovg in my sauces.

I'd have to agree with this one. Our germ magnets have brought home quite a few this winter and neither of us has had the hint of a cough or sniffle.

I have been thinking the exact same thing.....so far this year, no cold or flu (knock, knock on wood). I might get a few mild sx, but then they go away and I don't get full fledged 'sick'. I've been wondering if the pg has something to do with it. Seems like another poster here had a similar experience, too.

I would say the same-but the one I DID come down with turned into pneumonia-which I'm finally getting over. But then, I almost never get sick, so I guess it all decided to hit at once.....

A NASA doctor wrote a report on PG that included info (pg 318) about the 1942 Robertson study. It basically said that the finding are inconclusive since all of the test monkees died from unrelated infections during the study.
The NASA PG report is the most extensive I've ever read on the effects of PG on airborne contaminants. It IS highly technical though and trying to read it can lead to mental exhaustion very quickly.

Yeah, me too. Both of the kids were sick, and my wife as well. I got it too, but much more mildly, and mine passed a LOT faster. It's only anecdotal but there it is.

The vast majority of the time, people get colds & flus by getting the virus on their hands, then touching their nose, mouth, or eyes. Getting it through your lungs almost never happens. Studies have shown that people who rarely touch their faces also rarely get colds & flus, even controlling for handwashing.

The germicidal effect could reasonably take place in your lungs, mouth, sinuses and nose (assuming you exhale through your nose at least in part). That would leave the eyes, so the number of good disease entry points has been reduced by 75%!

I am far from delaring that there is a cause and effect relationship, but I have had exactly the same experience. Four people in my house passed around two nasty bugs this year and I didn't catch either of them. ::knocks on wood

I don't remember reading that those test monkeys died, must read that article again. Anyway, I think this is a very interesting phenomenon among vapers. I used to get sick two or three times a year cold turns to bronchitis turns to pneumonia. Fun, fun, fun! In the 2 years I've been vaping I've got 1 very mild cold, gone in 3 days. Lots of exposure to germs too AND I still smoke some everyday. Love this!

If this is preventing sickness isn't there a danger? Your immune system stays strong by fighting germs. If they are all dead, your white blood cells may get lazy??

A flu shot is essentially the injection of "dead" viruses into your body. Dead or alive, your body targets them and produces antibodies.
