Prosmoke and 510 on their way...

First off, I'm new here. Thanks for having me. Last weekend I walked into my smokeshop and bought a disposable e-cig instead of my P-Funks. Worked pretty well, until it ran out.

I decided that I needed to purchase an e-cig and quickly. I did some research, mostly via Youtube reviews. I ended up going with the Prosmoke. My Prosmoke is still in transit, they shipped 1st class, but I requested priority. (Tough when you are waiting for your nic fix) I did E-mail the company, and they responded that Priority and 1st class are nearly the same. I know this isn't true. I send 5-10 priority mail packages a month and I've never gone over 3 days. So as far as I'm concerned, they have one strike.

Then, being a bit concerned, I found this forum, and a bunch of people on here touting the Joye 510. Being half the price of the Prosmoke, I decided to give it a shot as well. So I ordered a 510 from a much more local dealer and think it may show up today. I also like the USB passthrough which wasn't available for the Prosmoke.

I don't mind having two, I'm thinking the Prosmoke may be better for non-tobacco flavors. The 510, I hope, will replace my cigs. But now, I'm browsing the forums trying to keep patient.

I did tell my brother about my e-cig, and he purchased a Smokestik. Neither he or I like it. Very little vapor, no flavor, and inconsistent draw. He's back and forth with the vendor, but he cannot figure if it's a defective model, or just a model that doesn't work so well.

So now, I'm impatiently waiting for my PV's. Hopefully they show up today. I haven't bought a pack since last Thursday, but if they don't show up today, I may have to.

I will post a side-by-side review when I get them.

I have no doubt you will like the 510, but Prosmoke may be another matter. In my e-cig experience, it was the worst of all in terms of quality control and customer service (maybe you will have better luck).

And if you like the 510, which you will, think about trying the eGo next. It's even better.

Hey mate , welcome and grats for the 510 . It s like the widest model used around seems and i m sure you ll be satisfied with it . Might wanna check out the model specific forums and suppliers one and you ll have a lot of info there on how to start on it ,priming the atty , cleaning and other stuff .

Thanks for the quick response. I'm half tempted to just return it, but I figure if I review it side by side with the 501, I may save some others from making the same mistake. And I don't feel like dealing with a customer service with a bad reputation.

I am a little nervous, because my brothers Smokestik operated so poorly. I really hope the 501 is a big step up. I may suggest my bro check out the Smokestik forum so he can hopefully get some resolution. For now, I'm eternally impatiently waiting.

I did purchase the 510 from a vendor represented on this site. Gotta reward those who are willing to give good advice.

I'm hoping when you ordered the 510 you got manual batteries instead of automatics?
That alone will make a world of difference as far as consistency goes.

I was back and forth, but after reading a few posts, I went manual.



...Also, I thought I'd let everyone know that my brother has spoken to Smokestik and they are going to replace his PV with a newer model. Apparently the place he bought it had older models, and was overcharging. They offered him a refund, but they were so nice, he decided to give them another shot.

He was very happy with the conversation he had and is looking forward to giving the new one a try.

I don't have it in hand yet, but I've heard it's the same as the M-403. I'm new to this, so I'm not sure what the M-403 is, but that's what I've read.

Well...

I got the Prosmoke and Joye 510. I haven't been able to get the Prosmoke to produce any vapor, and I'm going to contact their CS.

The 510... Wow! It produces tons of vapor and is thew best of the ecigs I've tried by a mile.

If Prosmokes CS can help me to get it working, I'll be happy, but this seems to be a common problem. And after seeing the 510 work so well, I'm not sure I care if I can get the Prosmoke working.

Love mine. Haven't needed to think about upgrading yet. Only trouble is I have issues prying it out of my girl's hand!

Check out the cart mods. You will really enjoy the 510 with a little tweak on the carts.

I'm already running a teabag mod. After killing the first cart, I decided to try out some of my juice, and the foam just didn't cut it. Rolled and folded a teabag, filled it, and it began hitting even better.

I got the Prosmoke working. They gave me a checklist of things to try. As I went through the checklist, I realized I had tried them all, but I decided to give it another round. I went to pickup the Prosmoke, and by habit took a draw, and got a huge cloud of vapor. I kept puffing on it, and the vapor continued. I'm assuming that the atty was either too wet or not wet enough, but the day before I had rinsed it off with water. I tried it after it dried, and nothing so I put it in the box.

It is much smoother then the 510. No TH, or LH at all. In fact the only way I knew it was working was when I exhaled. I'm not crazy about the flavor. A bit sweet.

Between the prosmoke and the 510, the 510 wins hands down. It gives a serious TH and LH, and seems to have more realistic flavors.

Atomizers take MUCH longer to dry than most people think.
Very common mistake.

Well. I got a good chance to try out the Prosmoke and the 510, and they are both very nice. The 510, being manual, is a lot less finicky. But the Prosmoke is very nice when it is working right. I did replace the VG with PG. I prefer the TH that PG gives. I also don't like the sweetness of VG.

Had I not tried the 510, I probably would've been happy with the Prosmoke, but for now, I'll treat it as a backup.

Glad you got things working. Can be frustrating at times. If you decide you have a need for longer battery life between charges, you can get the eGo battery and charger. Your 510 atties and carts and cartos will fit them. Great luck !
