Protank coils

I have a protank 2 and mini protank.Want to start building my own coils.What gauge of wire do I need to get?Also what kind of wick?Like 1.8 coils.Thanks.

32 is what I use. Ekowool, cotton, silicone and such are up to your likes.

For the way I build mine, I use 32 for 2-2.4 ohms coils and 30 for 1.7-1.8 ohm coils. Oh, and cotton yarn for the wicks.

Eta more info: for 32 gauge I do 6 wraps around a 5/64" drill bit, use two plys of a 4 ply sugar and cream for the wick and 2 plys for the flavor wicks.

For 30 gauge, I do 7 wraps around the 5/64 drill bit, and wick the same as above.

I use 9-10 wraps of 30 gauge around hex key(sorry the size escapes me) and get consistent 1.8 coils. I wick it with peaches and cream cotton yarn

32 gauge a Kanthol, 2milmeter silica for the coil and 2/3 of millimeter for the flavor. don't forget to heat it in the beginning and dry burn when done. Six turns on the 2mm will give you 1.8ohm

For regulated devices I prefer 30 gauge Kanthal. It is sturdier and allows for more wraps than 32 gauge, while having a much better response time than 28 gauge. I typically wrap them to 1.3 Ohms for my Provari and get good results.

I also do either sterilized cotton from CVS or Peaches & Cream yarn or an organic cotton/hemp blend wick.

yup 30 or 32 gauge. I use sterile cotton balls from the first aid section for wick.

Oh and if you have an Android device, go download "Vaper's Toolbox" from google play for free. It is awesome! Takes the guess work out of how many wraps you need to get the ohms you want! (made by a member here: ScottP)

I recently started building my own coils for my MPT. I use 32GA Kanthal A-1 wire and I wrap it 5 times around a 1/16th drill bit and use cotton to wick. I constantly get 2.0 ohms.

The perfect coil for me is built on 30 gauge Kanthal on a 1/16" drill bit. Approx 8 raps gives me 1.8 ohm. However, I like to do about 10 wraps when using it on my Provari given its VV - approx. 2 ohm. This allows for more surface area while still having a quick response time.

Yes it will! A smaller diameter coil would as well.

Try a 1/16" bit with 6 wraps. I should get you to 1.4 or so.

For my MiniPT2 builds, I typically make "nano-coils" w/ 30 gauge: 1.0-1.2mm in diameter, for between 1.5-1.8Ω

Here's what I've been using lately: 30AWG, 11/10, 1.2mm = 1.8Ω
