I find if you draw too hard, you'll get that "scorched" taste. Draw it nice and easy and you'll find that the wick is able to keep up with the demand.

This is my third week with the Protank, and I'll be ordering a couple more. I also found out that the EVOD heads work very well in the Protanks and reduce the airy draw a bit. They're also cheaper than the Protank heads.

What are you powering it with ? Is your voltage set too high ?
I rebuilt one of mine with 32 guage kanthal, 5 wraps on silica wick- tested at 1.9 ohms on my Provari and I'm running it at 4 volts with no burning.

Im using an ego-t upgrade with a 18650 battery and i only run it on regulated mode which should be 3.7 volts. one roblem is i dont have a multimeter or anything to check the resistance rating of the coil i try and do it by taste. i have 5 wraps in there now and its been working well all day. i did notice that the juice (tres cinco from nextsmoke) does get darker really quick. i had been using mt3s before so maybe i just didnt notice. after it was getting dark today it was starting to taste a little off so i toppe it off and rinsed the wick/coil and no problems since then.

I've only had mine for a few days, but so far I'm really enjoying it.
I went right to using EVOD heads in it, since I have a bunch of them.
The combination of an EVOD and a ProTank gives me the convenience of a tank at home and a clearomizer for on the go, but only having to keep a single type head in my vape box. I used to really like this attribute when I used vivi novas.

Count me in as another supporter of the ProTank. Works fine with the stock build, and has been for the last two weeks with a 7/30 PG/VG juice.

I filled my second one with a 50/50 juice, and noticed that I would occasionally get dry hits. Taking out one of the "flavour wicks" fixed that issue and the performance is now on par with my first one.

The Kanger T3's basically put a halt to my carto usage. The ProTank, I think will be the final nail in my carto usage. The only question is now, what to do with the 100 or so cartos I have on hand? :D

Just ordered a protank myself, wondering why some have so many though? Especially the people who rebuild, I'm bout to order some kanthal and silica wick, ordered a protank for 15 bucks, wondering if I should've ordered more but curious as to why if you can rebuild??

We that vape are a paranoid bunch...

If your coil is getting gunked up quick, you may need to put a little more heat to it, or build lower ohm coils. I rebuild mine every two weeks and then only because I think I should. I double 2mm wick, 4 wraps of 32 awg kanthal (no "flavor strands") comes to around 1.7 ohms and I vape it at 4.2 volts. This build seems...for me anyway...to smooth out the draw, no dry hits and no flooding. This is a great topper once you find your build. Oh and btw, I do rince and dry burn every three or four days during that two weeks. Good luck my friend.

For the airy draw I simply plugged up 2 of the 3 intake holes on the threaded stem. I used tiny wee bits of Teflon tape for the filling.

Will the tape have any adverse chemical reactions or anything? i had broken a t3 before i got my protank and glued it back together with nail glue and lets just say it went in the trash fast lol it tasted horrible so im wondering if the glue on the tape would act similarly

So just got my Protank today and loving it, thanks to all with reviews btw, my fav ejuices tend to be thick and dark, they were all gumming up my cartos, havent tried in the Protank yet as just got it, would like to keep up on maintenance, how do I dry burn? Do I remove the wick or just hold down button on LT w/o hitting it? Should I rinse with water first?
