Are the standard pt's still being sold or just pt2's? Also, are pt heads compatible with pt2 or do they use separate ones?

You can still get PT's from a few vendors, they are a couple bux cheaper than the PT2's. And yes, the Protank heads and bases work for the PT2
Backups. Always have backups. In fact, you should have backups for the backups which should also have backups for the backups. (I have 4 Protanks and 2 PuriTanks.

Oh, I have backups, just not protanks which has become my work setup (on mvp). Have a thousand heads...just for some reason thought PTs were alien technology making them indestructible. My dream showed me the error on my thinking.
They aint indestructible but they are pretty tuff. ive dropped my PTs on concrete and only snapped the threads off. ive relegated them down to the kid while ive restocked with Protank 2's. Get you some spare bases. That is the weak point of the Protank
FT still has um for $12, be aware this is the 1.5 version with the downstem support in the tank, and slightly modified 510 (similar to PT2)

I still use my protank, but don't think it's the best thing ever. Mine has been inconsistent from day one with flooding etc. Has anyone used the PT2, how is it compared to the original? Once I finally figured out how to set up the cartos I have found they are the most consistent thing I have used in a tank.
Protank II is better than the Protank I.
Caveat 1: Replacing the base and head of the Protank I with the newer bases/heads improves the PT I quite a bit.
Caveat 2: There's a bit of a learning curve with Protanks. When the vg% reaches 50%+, I've found that you have to modify the heads to accomodate for a higher viscosity.
Caveat 3: I can see why some who prefer a tighter, warmer draw would absolutely hate all the protanks.

I have several mini Protank 2's and only vape 50/50 juice. I've had no difficulty so far, these little guys work like a champ!
I now have 4 protank2's, got them when they came out and they work even better than the original pt. Not sure why you are having so many issues bp. juice viscosity vs removing the wicks? since they are cooler vape are you wicking out the center pipe when refilling?? What do you mean by flooding?!?
