I did a lot of research here on the forum to decide between an Evod or a Protank. I finally decided on a Protank which I received yesterday. I was so excited, but have had nothing but trouble. I had read about leaking problems and what to do and what not to do, including making sure you are not unscrewing it improperly causing the ejuice to leak. I am using it on an ego 650 or 900 battery with the adaptor cone. The atomizer pops when vaping. The fluid leaks, or when not leaking, hot bits of ejuice fly into my mouth through the drip tip. It also gurgles. I have taken it apart, cleaned it thoroughly and filled it carefully. All to no avail. I am so disappointed. I bought my protank from vapingzone so it is not a knockoff. I have tried everything I can find on the forum, so I am hoping maybe you could suggest something I may have missed. If there is nothing I can do, and it is a total loss, should I have purchased an Evod instead? Thank you for any help, and I hope I included all the info you need. Oh...all the problems occur on either battery. Cathy

Are you sure you have the coil setup screwed into the base tight enough? That's the only reason I can think of for it to be leaking. I have 1 and it has never leaked. Be sure to use the rubber cup that slides down over the stem. If you have the setup screwed tightly into the base and it continues to leak then you probably got a bad one and should contact the vendor you bought it from.

I have 3 protanks, and none leak...although I have not left them in my hot car this summer yet. They may in that environment, but I've not tried yet. I do get some minor juice popping at time, this is normal. The resistance of your coil might be much lower than what the ego battery can handle. You should not go below 2.0 ohm on those, and that may be pushing the current too high too. Lower resistance demands using a high-drain battery.

The resistance of the coil heads seem to be quite variable. Some are as low as 1.6 ohms, others I have used are as high as 2.8 ohms. One thing you really need with advanced vaping technology is a good digital volt meter, if for nothing else to check the resistance of coils. Some APVs, like my Tesla, can give resistance values for coils, some don't, like the LavaTube. You ego batteries don't, so a DVM is important. These are high-current devices we carry around with us. Pushing a battery too hard is dangerous. And knowing the resistance helps control the vaping experience better.

I agree with Kurt. You may want to check with VZ to see if you got the 1.8 coils or the 2.8s. Either way maybe your Ego is not heating the juice enough to create vapor and that may be why you are sucking juice into your mouth.

Also, I have better results not filling the tanks to the brim. I fill mine about 3/4 full.

Good luck!

Another thing I have seen new tank users do is draw too hard or too long - gentle, think sucking steam off of hot water with your lips half an inch from the water surface - easy does it, just enough to let the vapor filll your mouth and be inhaled - a lot less hot splatter in your mouth that way.

Hmmm..... I am not sure about that. I take long, deep draws and have never had juice in my mouth using a ProTank.
