I want to switch from the expensive ego atomizers that i seem to have to buy every week now to the rebuildable protank 2 setup. I already have a protank 2 but i just want to mod it to my liking. Just need a few questions answered first.

1. Can i use a 510/901 plastic drip tip on the pro tank 2 ? (i hate the metal one)

2. what ohm coils come with the pro tank 2 in the box ? (it came with 2 heads in the box and i need to know which ohm measurement to buy future replacements)

3. when refilling the tank it ALWAYS leaks, this is my main reason for not having switched over to the protank so far, ego atomizers were always easier for me, but cost is getting in the way lately, what can i do to stop this?.

4. I will be using the protank on my itaste MVP 2.0 with VV VW , i use 50:50 liquid all the time, what settings give the best results with the protank?

First of all I want you to say hi to the mother land for me, I will see where my family came from one of these days. Now onto to the questions that I can answer.

1. Unless something has changed the metal tip is part of the protank setup.....no.

2. Look on the coil, it will read what they are....look close.

Up the long river, down the short road. In my heart Ireland I hold. Send the British Army we will tear them in two and f___ King Billy and the Red White and Blue. :2cool:

1. The Protank II uses a 510 Drip tip
2.It should come with 2-2.5ohm heads but some have said they got a 2.5 and a 1.8. Its marked on the head near the bottom above the white insulator
3.Tilt the tank while filling and make sure you don't get any juice in the middle post.
4. Depending on the ohms of your head on the voltage setting. I use about 7 watts on most juice.

PS I also use a MVP2 and really like it

1 yes you can use diff drip tips 510 from what i know i got a plastic one on mine now
2 it comes with 2.5 ohms or at least mine did and they're actually 2.8 again mine were
3 are tighting it tight enough? don't over do it but get it real snug. also when taken apart look at the o rings one side is flat and the other is rounded. make sure the flat side is facing the glass part of tank(on both sides) and the rounded to the metal housing.
4 i use mine on a mech mod so cant really give a opinion. but i do use 50/50 as well. Best bet to start low and gradually go up.

I use the mvp2 with the protank 2 and 3. The leaking happens if you have it to tight. Also for your watts and volts theres a handy little ap I foumd for my droid called vapetown you tell them what your ohms are and it tells you the best ranges to ise so you dont burn your juice or underburn. Also if your having a hard draw make the breather holes on the beauty ring slightly bigger. The beauty ring that comes with the mvp not the protank 2. For the protank 3 it just better all around but getting coils is harder. But I think 2.0 or the 2.2 ohms taste the best.

Thanks for the great info - just got the MVP2 and my Protank2 just shipped - I luuuuuuuv the mini on my Ego-T but the MVP is strictly for home and looking forward to a bigger tank cuz haven't figured out yet how to get the juice in by osmosis from the other room! :)

Hey Video

I am an avid Protank user and have multiple PT1, 2, and mini's

Yes, you can use plastic 510 drip tips but some fit tighter than others

1.8 ohm heads will give you the best performance (in case you need to use a regular ego battery)

7.5 watts is the sweet spot for myself but it is subjective to what you prefer and what tastes best - some flavors need higher and some flavors need lower

I use about a 3cm x 6cm square of paper towel rolled up and stuck in the mouth piece end of the tank when I am filling it. Also a needle bottle makes it easier to fill due to all of the extra metal in the bottom of the PT2s

Clear Needle Drip Tip

Soft bottle with needle - The Best Shop Limited

the tank is really easy to take apart for cleaning, just keep track of all the orings (I do NOT remove them for cleaning) and be careful not to drop the glass tank in the sink (I clean over a plastic colander to prevent breakage and losing parts in drain)

Hope this helps

This might be my problem.. i bought the protank a couple of months ago when i was just starting out.

are the o rings supposed to be inside the glass tank? if so they are missing!

Yes, there should be an o-ring inside the top and bottom parts of the tank, where the pyrex tank sits. This will definitely cause leaking!

Here are some "exploded" views of my Protank 2 - Drip tip was left out of the picture

There are 3 main O-rings - 1 where the base with the 510 connector screws onto the tank, 2 inside the tank base and tank top where the glass barrel sits on them

I agree with Dakota Jim on what he said. I too like the 1.8 coils and vape at 7.5 watts when I use a Protank II. And I am told that if you lose an o ring you can pick one up at Home Depot, a number 15 rubber washer. I am not sure how true that is though, but the person that told me claims that's where he got a replacement in a pinch.
