Ed, that was an awesome post brother. I look forward to seeing the vid when you make it. I'm becoming more and more interested in stuff like this, so I'll be excited to see the vid, and am excited to read your write up now :thumb:

Thanks for sharing!

Here here. Fantastic post, @ed101z

Thanks you all. Just sharing ideas because I know what it's like wanting to protect your Reo Grand. The love we have for our Reo's eventually grows into a paranoia that compares to secret service protecting the President.

Hoping to get time to do a long video soon. My plans are to show how to apply ProtectClear on the Reo Grand, and on Atomizers as well. To properly show what I need to, I'll need someone to hold the video camera. I'll definitely need both hands free. The tri-pod idea won't work for what I have in mind. ;)

For the time being, you can get some ideas about how to prepare the Reo Grand for clear coating from this link.
Clear Coating your Reo Grand, AND Removing It

The video shows me chipping and removing the Rustoleum Clear Coat. I used Rustoleum in the beginning, but found that it cracked with just the slightest bump against something hard -- like a counter. So, I aborted using Rustoleum and tried the ProtectaClear. It holds up much better, and according to the manufacturer.... it will anneal into itself. Which means, if you get a scratch on it, you can simply put a dab on the area and it will self blend. That right there means a lot to me.
ProtectaClear will prevent salt damage, tarnish and corrosion on metal.

Yeap. I want to make sure to cover all the bases -- which is clear coating the Reo Grand; and clear coating your Atomizer (especially Brass RM2 and Brass Button Covers from Patina). :thumb: Gonna take some time. So busy right now with long shifts at work, and finishing up 2 computer networking classes. A long project like that will take days to do, and right now... I only have minutes. But I'm here to help in any way possible. :)

I know you're not on as much, but really appreciate you taking the time to help when you are! Hope you find some time to sleep in your busy life!
