Protege 510 Adapter Question

My Protege 901 shipped today. Yeah.

Question is about 510 adapter. PS sells one that replaces the head completely which is ideal. However AltSmoke sells a small screw on adapter that attaches to the 901 threads.

Anyone tried the screw on adapter and how did it work?

Also in the mix is another 2-3 week (estimated) wait time for the PS unit. I should have ordered it same time, but kept hoping it would get here sooner.

Yes, the one altsmoke sells should work just fine. It simply just extends the brass a bit

And there is no wait time on adapters shipping. They ship when ordered.

Thanks for the quick response Cash. Guess I will order one now. Hopefully the shopping cart accepts my info. For some reason when I ordered the Protege I was unable to complete transaction after a number of attempts so I had a friend order for me.

Just happens online at times and it can be very hard to diagnose exactly why.

careful with the adapters, stack too many & over tighten the adapter = dead atty. happened to a 901 to me... because i have a 801 protege, 801 to 510 adapter, 510 to 901 adapter... over tightened a couple times and it damaged the silicon in the atty and ruined it.

I have the 510 Protege adapter in SS and I have the PS 901 adapter, but it is aluminum and much softer, so instead of changing PS adapters when I want to vape on a 901, I use Altsmoke's little 510 to a 901 adapter and it works just perfectly. I mostly vape 510 anymore anyhow. So to answer your question, it works just ducky. It will also work vice versa.

Thanks for the info, didn't really think of that.

Think I'll just get the adapter that fits the tube from PS. Looks better and doesn't stick out farther.

Probably wait a few days and see how the 901 performs before I buy yet more gear.

The 510 on the Protege rocks! And it looks great too. I wouldn't spoil it with an add-on adapter just to save a few bucks.

Just with I could get a kr808 adapter for it (hint hint)

Personally I would prefer the Protege adapter rather than a conversion piece. But that's just MHO.
