yes it does , just not for as long..

The only benefits for these kinda mods is battery costs and runtime between charges. One is lower one is higher..

a 510 battery fresh off of charge will perform no different from the protege or any other 3.7v mod until the voltage drop off.

All 3.7 volt lithium Ion cells come fresh off charge at around 4.2volts.

And they never 'drop off evenly' through use..they have a continual voltage drop off until either a protection circuit cuts it out, it stops powering the device adequately or it just dies.

Regardless of the 'science' involved in these responses.... these PVs (Janty, Protege, Silver Bullet et al) do in fact produce more vapor than a regular 510 e-cig.

Otherwise none of us would own them....

Bandit , I'm inclined to disagree to that point, with the ecigs and Mods both commercial and made by me Unless it's a higher voltage , vapour production from a fresh batt and new atty on a vannila ecig is equal to that of any 3.7volt mod with the same atty.

the only other factor is air-flow , which may differentiate between mods and may make a slight difference but it's not a big factor.

I can say that with 901, 510, 801 and 401 atomizers and ecigs, that's my conclusion.

It's actually the current(amperage) of the higher rated batteries that make them perform better. Every battery has what's called a C rating(discharge rating). Most Li-ion batteries are rated between 1C and 2C. Multiply the C rating by the total capacity of the battery to get that battery's maximum discharge rate(or the highest current the battery can provide at any one time). Higher capacity batteries mean they can discharge a higher current. Since power is current times voltage, a higher current provides more power at the same voltage.

I've tried to go back to my 510 e-cigs, but after too many side by side comparisons (using the same atty, and each having fresh batts) the SB at 3.7v and Protege both produce much more of everything than the standard e-cig... side by side. And that's also using the manual batts to keep the comparo fair.

I got rid of all my 510 batts to a buddy and won't ever look back. Then sold off all my other e-cigs (just kept my M401 Dragon as an emergency backup).

Couldn't tell you how or why exactly they produce more, but in my experience, there is a very big difference.

I just got my 510 equipped Chuck Tuesday night and I wanted to compare with my 510. Here's what I did. I let the 510 battery charge for 6 hours, and used a brand new, never-before-used 18650/3000 battery in my Chuck. I tested both side by side, each with brand new atomizers from TW. I used NHaler 12mg High Voltage Pina Colada juice in both.

What I found was that for the first hour or so, vapor production was nearly identical. After that, my 510 started a slow drop off. Another 2 hours later, the 510's LED was giving it's tell-tale rapid blink of battery death. The last real hit I got off of it (that is, a regular draw that didn't end in a blinking LED) produced appx 1/2 the vapor and throat hit as it did at full strength. The Chuck experienced no change.

This test was very much less than scientific, but as far as I'm concerned, it proved the advantage of consistency with the Chuck (and I would imagine any decent battery mod, as the Chuck is the only one I own at this time). The only other difference I noted was the Chuck's vapor was slightly warmer. I think this may have been a difference noticed over time. Perhaps both the 510 and Chuck produced appx the same temp of vapor at the beginning, but as the 510 battery dropped off, the warmth of the Chuck's vapor became more apparent. The warmth enhanced the flavor, I imagine much in the same way those warming air fresheners deepen the smell of the oil packets you stick in them.

The bottom line in this is that the advantage of a battery mod is having the effects of a freshly charged battery for a longer period of time. Mileage, of course, will vary.
