There have been an unusually high fail rate on the protege switches unlike the "same" switch that's in the Prodigy.
The Protege's seem a lot less tolerant of shorting, arcing, etc... may have something to do with the Satinless....
I have both (well actually two of each) and the Prodigy switches have never been an issue. I've put at least 5 switches in the Protege's (ordered extra tact switches).

And, we're not talking about 5 volts were saying hitting it at 8.4 - 7.4

That would be my only concern. Switches aren't that hard to replace if you happen to have some.

Why not? They don't sell them.

because it may not be kosher to post one suppliers site in another's payed for sub-forum.....

I don;t think it is a big deal,,, but really it's up to the PS crew don't you think... I mean only out of respect

of course this is my opinion
