the last couple of days I've been struggling with a weak Protege, I thought it was my atty but I switched out various 510s and they all hit weak on my protege suddenly. They work as normal on my cheapie usb passthru, but I get very little vapor, no throat hit on the protege. Mind you it worked fine since I got it a couple months ago

I've tried using the mechanical button I have, which I don't like to use because I have to keep the adapters loose for it to work, but it too has a weak hit now. I've cleaned the threads on all connections, I use a pencil eraser for this and it usually works pretty good at cleaning any buildup. I've swabbed up any leaked juice in the little well and the adapter threads, I don't know what else to try

Have you tried a brand new battery w/ a fresh charge?
Not the ones that came with the kit but a brand new one?

Since you have cleaned all connections, did you lubricate the threads and ensure everything is snug??

And everything is making good contact?

This is all I can think of, I would bet it's your battery.

My wife had the same problem with her's I just took the switch out and cleaned it and made sure everything was straight. Do you have a mechanical switch if so make sure that there is no little pieces of plastic(delrin) on the contacts. Also Steve put a trouble shooting thread on the Puresmoker forum that has a few other things you can try. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...2-protege-troubleshooting-guide-pictures.html hope this helps

I don't think its the batteries, I have 6 14500 batteries I use in rotation for my protege. I've had all 6 less than 3 months, and I only use my protege as my primary device every other day or so. I don't think they would all crap out the same day.
I think its a connection problem, or something to do with the center post of the 510 adapter. anyone have a close up pic of the bottom/battery side of their 510 protege adapter ?
mine is sticking out a little compared to the rest of the metal, I'm wondering if its been pushed in too far do to me sometimes having to push hard on my brass T-tip to snap onto the atomizer

could be the switch but I have two, the tactile and mechanical and they both are equally weak today whereas they were both equally strong a few days ago

the problem started before I cleaned the threads, I cleaned them thinking it would solve it but it had no effect so the weakness is not a byproduct of me cleaning the threads

I could maybe get it to go if I got a punch and a hammer and got after it but I'd likely break it.

I would suggest you take the atty off the unit first, then separate the atty from the t-tip in the future. I have a t-tip and Pushing/pulling that hard definatley not a good idea.8-o

Not too sure I would be getting a hammer :nah: I would once again dis-assemble the unit and go through the process again.:)
