Does anyone know if the adjustment wheel on the XPV supports the DNA30's power lock mode?

I emailed Protovapor and they said the new XPV will be compatible with the power lock option of the dna 30 so not sure how they will be incorporating the feature.

They have also informed me that the mini will not support the dna 30 because the 18350 battery can't handle it. I'm hopeing they find a way to get a 1200mah LiPO battery in there like the Vapor Shark DNA or my Hana Mini. Maybe I'll just pick up the mini and modify it with a Lipo and the DNA 30 myself.

...I know...I'll void the warranty.

Right, whereas I have had 'em with my Vaporshark DNA. They're usually not too bad; I tend not even notice a few tenths of a watt, but the one time I hit a single-coil Protank with a full 20 watts, I definitely knew something was terribly wrong.

Oh my... too funny :D Perhaps "Terribly Wrong" was a bit of an understatement? Anyway caused a chuckle...

Sup XPVr's.

Been doing a TON of investigating and researching on DNA devices. Currently only own an eVic which has been more than amazing to me, but ready to take it another step.

Been emailing Protovapor (even at this late hour on the east coast during my third shift), and they're still responding to me. Great customer service is the 2nd most important thing in my book. #1 would be the product itself, which after reading through 57 pages, seems to be the best kept secret on the DNA market.

I'll be ordering within the next few weeks. Definitely going all black everything with maybe a dark grey button.

Could you guys explain the different between smooth and clicky buttons? Are we talking about the tactile feedback from them being pressed, or the actual material they're made out of? I kind of read into things too deeply.

Vape on :)

They by far gave me the best customer service I've had from a vape vendor. I have total confidence that if anything went wrong with the xpv, they would help or fix it. Unlike some of the other dna makers

I have the smooth version and it feels like pushing on a spring. The button itself is a hard plastic. You don't have to push it in very far or hard for it to fire and I think it feels very comfortable and natural.

I can't speak for the clicky type but I am thinking that the button part is the same at least. Just the action is different.

I'm the opposite -- can't speak for the smooth version since I have the clicky on both of mine. The click can be felt and heard (soft click) when you press it and again when it is released. Very smooth operation and a short throw. I love the curved profile -- feels nice and looks better than the usual round button.

As bncceo states, there's no difference in the button size, shape or material between the clicky and the smooth. Only the action differs (silent vs a click).

I have a clicky and smooth action switch.
My personal preference is the smooth. The clicky feels just fine and the action on the click is very positive. I just prefer the smooth since that is what all of my other mods are with exception of the AltSmoke BB. Clicky does make a noise but not distracting.
My third XPV will likely have a smooth button. But my fourth will likely have a clicky.
That helped a lot, huh ? :D

So I talked to Protovapor and they said starting in February they are going to let us dna20 guys upgrade to a dna30 for 100 bucks. They will put the new chip in our existing mods and also put in a new battery that is needed for the chip. They also said that they will let us keep the dna20 chip. Not sure if I want to do this yet or not as I have never even used 20 watts on my device. Any other reasons to upgrade that you guys know of?

That is pretty awesome, the fact that they will send the DNA20 back to you is pretty sweet, and makes me seriously consider doing that, especially if I can also keep the battery that is in my existing unit, that's most of what I need to build my own DNA mod!

Yep! No way I'd do that without buying (and taking delivery of) a second one first.

However, I personally don't see the need for an upgrade to the DNA-30 at this point. I have yet to see the need to go above 11-12 watts with any topper I have. Heck, at the moment I'm running my Squape at 8.5.

Maybe I should go find myself a dripper that I can build quad-coils in or something?
