Great to hear there’s an upgrade path, but I probably won’t take it. Like others who have posted, 20 watts gives me ample elbow room already.

Granted, my next dna device will be a DNA30 (unless the DNA20 option is offered at a discount), but I see no need to spend $ to upgrade what I already have.

The price of $100 seems quite fair and I can imagine that getting back the DNA20 chip is a big plus for those who can do something with it, and minimizes the wallet bite. With my skills, however giving me a chip would be like handing a nail gun to a monkey. Something will happen, it probably won’t be good, and there’s a good chance someone will have to call 911.

Yep! No way I'd do that without buying (and taking delivery of) a second one first.

However, I personally don't see the need for an upgrade to the DNA-30 at this point. I have yet to see the need to go above 11-12 watts with any topper I have. Heck, at the moment I'm running my Squape at 8.5.

Maybe I should go find myself a dripper that I can build quad-coils in or something?

I'm with you on this... just don't see the point? Rip Trippers I ain't. LOL. :vapor:

14-14.5 is my max area. I run a dripper. Single 1.0 coil. Some liquid gets 14 and others are better at 12+. Flavor is my chase, not clouds.

No need for me to upgrade. My worry is Evolve will discontinue the 20 like they did the kick v1. From what you guys have said, there may be enough things different for them to quit making it.

Haha I'm the same as you. I don't really sub ohm a bunch and when I do it's .8 or .9. I try to build my Kayfun, Russian and Squape at around 1.3 so I usually don't go over 13-14 watts. So I dunno, maybe I'll upgrade down the road still

Well mine finally made it to my mailbox... it sucks that I'm out of town and won't be home till tomorrow morning..
The main diff in the 30 is u can lock the wattage. The screen dims and is not as bright. Also goes out faster than the screen on the 20. I'm gonna get one but not uograde . I'm going to use the thirty for my main driver and use the 20 for weekend rip tripper moments lol.

Yup, that's about as low as I go too. Even with Dualies in the Helios. .4 just sounds like a throat scorcher to me... So much so that I've not even attempted it.

That's a feature I would love to have on my Vaporshark, but Paul did such a good job with the design of the XPV's physical controls that the DNA 30's new power-lock feature strikes me as pointless on the XPV.

The adjustment mechanism seems one of a kind (I'm sure it isn't) but boy is that little rocker switch sweet.

So I talked to Protovapor and they said starting in February they are going to let us dna20 guys upgrade to a dna30 for 100 bucks. They will put the new chip in our existing mods and also put in a new battery that is needed for the chip. They also said that they will let us keep the dna20 chip. Not sure if I want to do this yet or not as I have never even used 20 watts on my device. Any other reasons to upgrade that you guys know of?

Hi mculley47, so for the benefit of me being on the other side of the pond. When you say a 100 bucks, is that just a term of phrase you are using? What we looking at in dollars for an upgrade? Thanks.

Sorry to jump in; but I think he meant $100 USD, please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how I understood it particularly since they are paid for in USD.

No probs you jumping in, aint that`s what friends are for to help each other out? Protovapor informed me yesterday that they are taking pre-orders this week and it will be announced next week on their web site. So from that I assume they will be producing an XPV with the DNA30 chip as well as an upgrade option, although I could be wrong assuming they will be producing a unit with the DNA30. So if that is the case and going on the fact he meant a $100, it would be a better bet for me or anyone else come to think of it, to just purchase another XPV. That way you still have your original DNA20 but inside a mod.

Just wanted to say thank you to you guys who have been posting updates on here about your experiences with the protovapor. I just preordered the DNA 30 version after grimm green mentioned it and then read all the great things on here. Just wanted to add because i didnt see anyone else mention this but protovapor told me that if i preordered i would get locked in with the DNA 20 price but they will be raising the price for the DNA 30 version. So if you were thinking about preodering there is a benefit to doing so.

So do you know what the price of the XPV DNA30 will be eventually?
