i saw that. i wish busardo or green would do a review on them.
Considering that grimmgreen mentioned it he might. Maybe protovapor was waiting until they got a green case to send one to him

Funny story today: The afternoon, I went on a hunt for some 6mg juice to vape late in the evenings (I normally vape 15). The sales guy at one of the places I went was the typical young man with various piercings and earlobe expanders, although he was very nice. He was vaping a mech with some kind of tank-type RTA on it that I didn't recognize. Then he spotted the XPV in my shirt pocket and asked what it was. So I showed it to him and he basically went gaga over it and asked if he could try his atty on it. Sure. I screwed it on there and did a half-second fire to see what resistance it had. 0.8 ohms. Handed it to him and told him: It's set for 11 watts. He immediately asked how to turn it up. I showed him. He ran it up to the full 20 watts and proceeded to vape it -- and burn his cotton wick. Now if we do the math, a fully charged battery in a mech running a 0.8 ohm should be producing at least than 20 watts, but apparently things don't really work that way. It would have been interesting to see how much voltage his mech was actually making under load, but I'm pretty confident it wasn't anywhere near 4.0V.
Moral of the story: DNA-powered XPV's RULE, even the lowly old DNA-20 powered ones.![]()

This wait is excruciating.
It's my XPV and I want it now!

How do you figure that a Provari is less expensive than an XPV? By the time you include a decent battery charger and two batteries (since you can't vape and charge at the same time), even a "blemished" Provari ends up costing as much or more than an XPV.He wasn't really crazy about the price point of the xpv and decided he wanted the provari.

That story has made me want an XPV even more. It's definitely going to be my last non-mech mod. Kinda glad the other colors aren't available right now; I've got to save up anyway.![]()
Buy the XPV NOW!
Poldiac is kinda cool... The Gus mods is...really nice and now I want one. I want to find a Damascus tube mod, don't care about cost.If only I could, man. If only I could.
So I've got three things on my short-list:
1-XPV in red or orange or some other silly color
2-Poldiac, Belial version, because it's just plain gorgeous
3-Gus Mods Lord, because it's the most unique, over-engineered (says the guy who wants a real Poldiac) intricate telescoping tube mod I've ever seen.
But, I'll reiterate: Me=Champagne tastes, beer budget.![]()

Can somebody tell me is there some benefit to buying a mech mod now that I have a DNA 30 mod? It seems like they can do the same things except with the DNA you get better battery life from what i've read plus you get to choose your wattage. I've never owned a mech mod so maybe there is some benefit I just don't see.
There's only a few things.
On a mech, you can fire at whatever resistance you'd like to, whereas a DNA chip will short the atomizer if it's is too low of resistance. The spec sheet says it can fire 1.0 ohm and up, but I believe it can get down to 0.7 or so. A 0.7ohm atomizer is plenty low for the normal builder, but #cloudchasers normally like to dip lower than that just for show. Having a DNA that can reach 0.7 while simultaneously regulating the device and keeping it safe is way more appealing IMO.
Also, from an aesthetic standpoint, some enjoy the whole chromeo appeal of mechs; having devices that look like they are straight out of a steampunk factory. My eVic is shiny enough to suffice.
Lastly, the simplicity of mechs are potentially the most attractive 'feature'. No fancy schmansy electonics, wiring, displays, etc. Just good old mechanical electricity.
Those are the only ones I can readily think of.
Personally, I don't even own a mech, as I think the XPV came into play right on time to suit my needs. As I delve further into the vape world, I probably won't even use my eVic. Think I'd rather lend it to a friend who wants to quit cigs before I'd sell it though.
Will I want to get a mech in the future? Most likely. Probably a Nemmy clone just due to their low pricepoint and almost identical replication.
Hope I answered some of your questions![]()
