Man. I think I'll just have to wait until one of these DNA30 devices is stocked as a "regular" item somewhere.
I just don't have the nerves to deal with having that much money go "poof" and then sit around hoping
what I paid for actually shows up.

I got burned kinda bad a few years ago when I was part of a group buy for the last run of Pioneer Elite plasma televisions.
Even though I paid for it with a CC through paypal, LOTS of crazy stuff resulted in me waiting about 3 months for a
television. Loooong story......

I feel the same way the only reason I ordered one was that I just got my taxes and had some extra money burning a hole in my pocket. The wait is excruciating. Going on the 14th business day and twentieth day since I ordered and it's still processing. I know it will ship soon... but I will be crazy until I have it in my hands

Oh, it'll happen, probably about five or six months after the DNA50 and the DNA75 hit the shelves...

You're right, of course. I've noticed that the more time I spend reading stuff here, the more I feel that consumerist urge. I just have to keep reminding myself of what I DO have, what I like about it, and whether or not the "next thing" will do anything better. Nothing wrong with the new stuff, and if I had more disposable income I'd be more than happy to keep chasing the dragon.

But my funds are extremely limited. And I've already got an embarrassingly large collection of mods, mostly clones. But they do the job

I ordered and paid on Feb. 25th and I am order number #300 so hopefully I'll get my shipping notice any day now.

you not far behind me in the queue, I ordered mine on the 22nd which was a saturday and didn't get processed until the 24th so I'm only a day ahead of you :)
Got my shipping notice yesterday, but it is still stuck in pre shipment... so they are probably waiting until they have a bunch to ship out all at once. I'm guessing they might be doing this to keep the production going, which is fine... I'm actually hoping it doesn't get here until my next day off so I can spend all day playing with my new PV

Arg, my XPV's 510 connector is spinning in the housing of the mod, can't get my KFL off because it will rip the wires out if I just keep spinning it...

I'll have to pop the top and hold the 510 from inside to get my KFL off, and then I think for this issue I will actually send it in to protovapor.

Seems odd to have this happen, it has literally been sitting in a hard plastic storage box with cushion inside on my desk, un-moved, since I last used it a few weeks ago.

Doh!

Popped the top, got my KFL off, and yea the whole blob of solder that is attaching the 510 to the top piece of the mod, is spinning with the 510, it is no longer bonded to the top plate.

I may just hit it with a soldering iron and fix it myself, but I don't think it will be as strong as it should without being fully stripped, cleaned, and re-soldere, so I will probably send it in and hopefully get the new red o-ring I have seen mentioned.

I have seen that blob you are speaking of also.. Am wondering how long it will hold up.. I would have liked a threaded 510 shank that could have a nut that tightened it down to the top plate and a new type of 510 connector used. I had to put 2 red orings on my center pin because nothing would fire the center pin was too low in the cavity. Id hit it with solder and see if you can fix it first.

I filled out the support form on their site, and then right before I hit submit, figured I would just go ahead and fix it myself this time around.

Mostly I don't really wanna contribute to extending the 35-45 day lead time on new orders when it is something I can take care of myself.

Hit it with a high power 140 watt soldering gun for a bit, seems to have a good bond once again, possibly better then it was when I received it even (hard to say).

For the record, this is the second solder related issue I have fixed myself on mine, though it was one of the semi early ones, and they seem to have directly addressed some of the issues on newer units.

That sounds like a way more expedient solution than sending it to Hawaii. :D

PS: I had minor altitude-change related flooding on 3 out of 4 of the tanks I had with me on a drive today; an R91, a KFL+, and an Aerotank. I started at sea level and topped at in the mid 3000s, but it all happened on the steep grade on northbound I-77 in SW VA, where there's a roughly a 1000' rise change in 5 minutes of driving. Silly me, I thought this wasn't likely to happen here on the east coast. However, it was minor enough to be clearable just by vaping them.

Yea, also large temperature changes can have a pretty big impact on the vacuum in the tank, as can a rapid trip up in an elevator in a tall building :)

KFL is still easily one of the best, if not the best, bottom coiled tank system imho.

Received shipping notice on the 12th from my order on the 22nd have my Russian 91 clone warmed up. Never owned a Dna device, so I'm getting kind of excited. Can I get some advice on what ohm coil to what wattage if I want lots of vapor.
Now I'm using 1.3 ohm micro coil at 4.3 on a Provari and would consider it moderate vapor. thanks for any advice.

Quantity of vapor relies on MANY different aspects of your setup, the chosen method of delivering power probably being the one with the least impact.

I think the biggest impact is airflow to the coil, more airflow = more vapor usually (when all other things are working right and able to keep up).

Especially when you are able to hit it with lots of power, you have to be able to keep that coil cool and wet, as long as you can do that, you can bump up the power further and further without getting burnt nastiness, but usually you can only get so much airflow, and so much liquid at the coil, those two things are usually your bottleneck for getting "more vapor", not the power of your mod, IMHO.

I see you like the Kayfun lite and the Russian 91 clone is essentially the same.So what build do you use for your Xpv?
