Sorry to hear you cancelled Mini, but I can understand it. Most ppl dont want to do surgery on their device the day it arrives.. Other than the connector it is well put together.. Time will tell how many ppl have these problems. I wish they would retro fit the ones that all of us have when a new connector is used.. I know a new one will be used. The question is when?

Meh. Maybe further down the road. It also makes me a tad nervous the manner in which PV has been talking about the Hawaii legislation. Hopefully it doesn't put them out of business so repairs for customers are not possible.
I'm a little bummed but not as much as if I were to receive something that is broken within hours, especially considering the price. It may only be an issue with the connector, but that is a pretty important part overall

I also voiced my concerns to PV regarding the connector issues before asking for a refund, but rather than reassure me they just told me I should ask for a refund. Seems a bit odd that they wouldn't even back up their product and would rather issue a refund than keep a customer.
This was my first correspondence with PV since my order so I haven't been a pain in the rear or anything. Maybe I'm better off taking my money elsewhere. Oh well. Good luck to all of you XPV owners!

looks like they really don't care about backing up their products to much ..because probably they think peoples still buying it anyways .. not good ..

I mean- I realize that I'm just one person and it was only $200 (+express shipping) so I'm just another drop in the bucket, but dang. Not even a "we will look into and address the issue" or anything. Just "we can refund and cancel just let us know."

I'm definitely not trying to deter anyone from ordering nor am I bad mouthing the device or current owners. Just wanted to share what I thought was some pretty strange business at work.

The XPV has been my primary, goes-everywhere-with-me mod since the day after I got it a bit more than two months ago. During that time, it has mostly worn a Squape and an R91, both of which must be removed from the mod to be refilled, meaning they've been off and back on at least once a day.

I've never had any issues with the connector. I've never made any adjustments to it either, and the spare red o-ring that was supplied is in my kit of vaping parts and supplies somewhere.

Short of literally crushing the thing using hydraulics, there's nothing that can't be fixed using off-the shelf parts by anyone who's competent with a soldering iron. This isn't a mass-produced PV full of proprietary parts. It's truly a MOD.

Yup, it's one of the more expensive DNA mods available, right?

Like I said- not trying to dissuade anyone from buying the mod. I'm sure it is fantastic and the issues are not that widespread. PV was prompt with a reply and then some, so I have nothing further to gripe about. Looks like it's time to excuse myself from the thread. Good luck folks!

I am glad that ppl seem to not be having any issues. It is a pretty well thought out design and it is a tough mod. Everything inside looks well put together. I have no gripes with the build quality. Just never seen an oring used as an insulator in any mods Ive owned. Mine is working fine for me now.. Great battery life for me. I recommend anyone that wants this PV to get it. You wont be sorry.. There is nothing that cant be fixed if need be as Rossum said.

Just got XPV in the mail today was so happy, and within 5 minutes the O-ring in the 510 connection popped off. Didn't have time to mess with it, was on my lunch break and stopped at home knowing it was in the mail. When I get home I'm going to have to open it up and put it back in. Not very happy

The same thing happened to mine within about 16 hours of it coming in the mail. It was easy to correct, but I'm still a little disappointed. I think I'm going to pull one of those rubber coil insulators off a Protank coil and see if it will fit.

That's why I'm not really angry about the whole thing. I think I'm more surprised than anything, I'm not sure how this setup made it through the prototype testing phase.

I just fixed the issue, it took all of two minutes to slip on a new O-ring. I emailed PV about it and got a response within ten minutes with instructions on how to fix it. It wasn't like performing surgery or anything complicated... although initially it was frustrating because I didn't have the time to fix it right away, which in fact I did just didn't realize just how easy it was.
So I'm vaping on it right now and having a blast.
I do still feel they should have used a better quality 510 connector.
On one hand $200 is a lot of money to spend on a product that isn't perfect and have to wait forever to get.
On the other hand any hand crafted made to order product vaping related or not are going to have a few kinks here and there.

Yes I just got an email from protovapor asking for input on what caused the issue and they said they are trying to get it worked out. The feedback and support from PV more than makes up for the two minutes I had to spend fiddling around with it.

LOL, I used one of those to fix the issue I had with my R91% center post. Afterwards, the switch to a new deck insulator meant I could ditch the one off the PT coil.
