Conversations in our house go more like this:

Charlie: Speaks a lot of words
Rod: Is on the forum typing away
Charlie: "What did I just say"
Rod: Our place isn't big enough for a dog house, but I'd have to live there if'n we had one! Cuz, I don't have a clue what he just said!
Well, at least one of yuz is talkin'.

No we are NOT! Not all women, Bronzoid. Besides, you wouldn't have it any other way. Admit it, dudelbug.

Shhh...... everyone. NY's going to whisper something to us.......
I did. Hope you got it.
Oh, since this is a technical thread rather than a purely social one, which I do appreciate, let me say the zencote P3 is superb. good color and I have no doubt about the durability of the finish.

Hubs and I are literally 6 feet apart. Him at the table - me sitting in my recliner. We send each other facebook messages or if one of us goes to the bedroom to turn in for the night - text.

This was the remedy for those moments his reply was "Sure babe. I heard you. Uh huh. Yep. Of course. Ok.". Then he got the credit card bills...

Charlie almost always waits until I'm typing on my keyboard before he asks me something. When I'm typing the outside world goes silent, but he doesn't get that. No he doesn't get it at all!

Question:

Buying for my sister...

What are the finishes on the 2.5:

- Pearl White
- Pink Ribbon

Are they Cerakote? Or are they like a Zenkote type finish? Or.... That soft Vaporshark finish that will rub off?

Thanks!

Maybe this "question" is posted in the wrong thread.

;-)

Or its possible not many people have bought one, so no one knows for sure.

It can't be wrong thread, this is after all the FAQ thread, for gosh goodness sakes! ;)

I can't answer the question because I've never bought one. I hope someone who has will chime in soon.

I don't think the answer has ever been officially stated.

As I recently saw a couple of the newer colors briefly, I can tell you the intense Pink, Red and Purple are WOW worthy. I didn't inspect them, but at a glance they reminded me of an anodized finish, only better.

The Pearly White or Pink Ribbon would not be Cerakote as all that type of finish is Flat (no gloss), as far as I know.

They would not be Zenkote or the Radii custom metal color process -- only a few metal colors can be produced using that process.

I think we all would have read reports of them flaking and pealing by now --- so, no, not like that other finish.

Cool thanks! She wanted the Pearl most and said she also liked the pink ribbon.

I'll go Pearl.

Thanks!

Hi bud, my mrs got the soft touch white at christmas and within a week it started peeling and really discoloured. I would describe this finish as "pearl" as it had a pinkish tint.

Contacted Blake at Provape and he covered shipping both ways and let her pick any colour/finish that she wanted. He confirmed that the Gloss white is a cerakote and she picked that one. As always amazing customer service, 2 thumbs up to Blake.

Really nice finish but is a pure brilliant gloss white, she has dropped it twice on concrete and it barely shows a mark.

I hunted out an old email, here is Blake describing the durability of the various finishes.

"The Satin Silver, Polished, Iced or the new Polished/Satin hybrid are all the most durable finishes since there is no paint to wear or chip. The next most durable is the Gunmetal Grey, but the Cerakote finishes are nearly as durable though they will eventually wear through from contact with your hands."

And here are some pics soft white (pinkish tint to it which she preferred till it turned grey and peeled lol)

And the Gloss white, very shiny smooth finish.

A wonderful repeat:

ZenKote™ is a super-tough decorative and conductive nano-coating finish developed by House of Hybrids. Imagine having incredible beauty in a highly conductive finish but with a hardness greater than carbide! We start with a Stainless Steel substrate then run the part through a 7 step cleaning process to clean and sterilize it making it ready for the tough outer finish. Finally, The final finish step is to put our proprietary vapor deposition nanocoating on it to make it permanent and tougher than any PV finish available, it's tougher than Chrome!

ZenKote™ is currently available in the following rugged finishes:

  • GunMetal ZenKote™: The depth and look of dark nickel, but as tough as nails.
  • Gold ZenKote™: The look of 24K Gold but tougher than Titanium . Don't confuse this finish with Gold Plating... it's MUCH more than that!
  • Aluminum Graphite ZenKote™: Our first ZenKote™ designed exclusively for coating ALUMINUM!
  • Rose Gold ZenKote™ All the luster of rich Rose Gold but with a wear resistance greater than carbide.
  • Princess ZenKote™: A really rich Purple that is just stunning! Formerly known as Byzantium ZenKote™.
  • Obsidian ZenKote™ A deep dark favorite that has a rainbow fade on flat sections... truly beautiful.
Discontinued Colors

  • Carpathian Blue ZenKote™: Available exclusively at the Zenesis Factory Outlet Store and occasional Vape Meets. (Discontinued)
  • Sapphire ZenKote™: A deep blue finish that proved to be unstable in color. (Discontinued)
  • Antique Bronze ZenKote: Existed only on the Launch Day edition of the ZNA (Discontinued)

Thank you! Excellent posts! I actually pulled the trigger on the Pink one for her last night. Mainly because it's a mini, and the white was a regular 2.5. I want her to have both options.

Also having the cap converted to p3 and got the matching extension.

The one below. Unless it's the soft touch (which from replies I don't believe it is), she will be happy!

Follow up that my sister LOVES the pink mini. She's very happy! This is her first decent mod too. And it should last her YEARS and be the only mod she'll need as the cig replacement type vaper she is. She'll be more than happy with the "set it and forget it" comfort of it frankly.

I gave her a Nautilus Mini as a topper for it too and she's in bliss.

Which leads me to a question... When the mini's LED starts to flash, what % is it at? Is it at 18% like the P3's updated software?

I just want to be able to tell her how much battery/time she has left when it starts to flash is all.

I've personally never paid much attention, but I know she'll push the limits. Lol
