I'm jelly. Would have loved to go shake those folks hands and have a vape with 'em. :vapor:
It was fun. It wasn't really open to the public yesterday, but I was still amazed at how nice everyone was. I even chatted to Paul Busardo for a bit and he is a good dude.

It was my first vape event, so I found it neat. I ended up with 55 (yup, not a typo) different sample juices and tried likely a couple hundred. I now know what vapers tongue is though.

Anybody else ever get their battery stuck in their Radius? It's a Samsung 30Q, and as I was putting it in, I thought to myself "Man, this battery sure is snug." But before my brain could send that message to my hand, it was too late. Now it won't come out. Any tips or tricks you guys know of without damaging the Radius? Thanks!

You have to hit it on a firm but non marring surface like the head of a rubber mallet on the switch side so the batt can work its way out. Once you get it poking out enough, use pliers to pull the batt. Plan on rewrapping the batt if you don't damage the end cap of the batt in the process.

Also send provape a message about the fit problem with that batt. It probably has a thicker wrap.

OK, I'm going to throw this out here. I have been using my Kabuki's and have not touched my Kayfun's in awhile. I just picked one up, still on a Provari. It was completely empty. All the juice leaked out. There is alot of juice inside the Provari. It is a 2.5.

My question is, can I do an alcohol bath on it? And the best way to do it?

@AstroTurf please be easy on my noob move.

I may have done this to 4 Provari.

Is it actually inside the Provi where the board sits?

No internal washing allowed...

Time for a trip to the spa? Or time to buy another?

Similar thing happened with my Radius yesterday. I refilled my KFL+, it didn't leak for the first 30 minutes, I took a couple of pulls, put it down and happened to glance over at it a few minutes later and it was leaking right over the front of my Radius (all over the buttons) and pooling around the base. I am confident I caught it in time, but I am getting gun shy with the Kayfuns. 100% chance it is my wicking or filling technique, but if I left it over night like that it would have likely ended badly.

Did you try to dry out the 2.5 gently with a cloth and let it stand for a day or two? Have you used it since the leak?

I've dropped a cell phone in my pool and my wife dropped one in a toilet and both ended up being fine. Water isn't the same as eJuice though....

do you have an oring on the fill screw? ... I've never seen this happen, I've had 6 of these tanks sitting filled daily for over 2 years.

Were I to experience what you described, I would immediately replace all O-rings.

Also, how are you filling your Kayfuns?
If you're top filling, then flipping it over, waiting for bubbles, and tightening the cap...well you're doing it wrong.

Bring on the haters! Hate me for saying that, all you want...but the people who designed the device built it with a FILL PORT on the bottom...

If you're not top filling, and are filling correctly via fill port, just make sure not to overfill it.
The urge to get as much juice in the tank as possible is human nature...but no tank system should be filled 100%, but instead a fill to 80-90% works better.
This goes for vape stuff, but the same principle applies to car gas tanks, commercially packaged beverages, etc.

I'm really surprised that your tank leaked so rapidly and completely.

Thanks for the reply. Very helpful. It didn't leak out completely, but a good millilitre for sure.

I am filling it from the bottom port - good?
I am definitely overfilling it - bad?
I wicked it with cotton with tails wrapped a bit around the deck - bad?

I am assuming 3.0-3.5ml in an empty tank and the wicking material just touching the base is the right answer to my issues?

P.s. I am not a newbie when it comes to rebuilding and using RTAs. I have a bunch of them that I use almost daily. My problems so far have stemmed from the amazing amount of conflicting info on the web regarding how to wick and fill a KFL+. You, RB and WillyZ have been more helpful than 99% of the crap on YouTube and other forums/review sites.

Bottom port - GOOD.

Overfill - BAD.

Wick wrapped around deck - Never seen that done.

Wicks just sitting on the deck - GOOD.

Fully saturating wick before assembling tank and filling - BAD (hotly debated point of opinion here, but I feel like the majority of people agree).

You just want to make sure the wick nearest the coil has liquid in it (so it won't burn on your first fire), and a drop or two on each tail will work.
Once you assemble and fill, do a couple non-powered puffs to get the juice flowing to the wick chamber...just like on a Nautilus coil!

Also, make sure that the wick isn't too tight. You want to feel some resistance, if you were trying to pull it out, but not enough that you'd deform the coil.

Play around with your voltage/wattage, because if you're not burning the juice you're pulling in, you'll flood and leak.

Recently, I was humbled and reminded of the fact that you've gotta cook the juice you're pulling to the coil, or you'll gurgle/flood/leak etc.

I bought a Goblin Mini and built it to the design most common in the reviews I watched.
Fired it up, and entered Flood City.
Turns out, this tank is built for higher power than my measly 10W comfort zone.

I wasn't vaping the juice fast enough to keep up with the wicking/juice flow.
So back in the box it goes, until I get my Radius!

I'm not an "expert" or "master"...by any means. I've just been repeating the same builds for so long, that many people have success using what I describe. My tanks flood/gurgle occasionally, and I'd never deny that to anyone...because it is impossible for these tanks to keep a vacuum/pressure differential indefinitely...and to claim otherwise is just an outright lie.
Best example? My KFLs will weep a little bit if I don't vape them every few days. I just make sure to vape each tank every 2-3 days.

I've always fully soaked the wick before assembly ... I've never had a dry hit or a leak.

IMO, I cannot see a reason you wouldn't fully soak the wick first.

therefore, fully saturating wick before assembling tank and filling - GOOD

no need for any no power puffs ... it is ready to vape with an already wet wick

Thanks again!

I am pretty sure I found the problem. :)

It turns out that the poly middle section of my KFL+ has rough edges on both ends and really doesn't seem to sit fully flush and completely right with the two SS sections. I was also filling it to the rim and had too much wicking material.

I reverted back to the steel middle section, shortened the wick legs and only filled with about 3.5ml of juice.

Only used it like this for 30 min, but so far not a drop. I think the poly section is a bit wonky and compromising the vacuum. The o-rings look good on that section and everywhere else, so that is all i can think of.

I will keep my eye on it, but I bet it was the poly section coupled with overfilling.
