But you would agree that there is a Substantial Difference between Ingesting Flavoring and Artificial Sweeteners in Foods/Drinks than heating them and then putting them Directly into your Lungs. Especially at the Amounts that some people do per day.

Right?

I'm sure there's some detrimental aspect to vaping flavorings. That's why I vape unflavored most of the time. When I DIY flavored juice I tend to mix on the light side with flavorings.

I also tend to inhale shallowly or not even inhale at all. It's possible to vape a hit and exhale through the nose without inhaling into the lungs. I like the flavor boost that happens when I do that.

    ...

It could be that Many are Relatively Benign. And have No Major health risks. And it could be that there are some Really Bad Actors out there. With some Nasty Risks in the Long Term.

    Just Hard to say.

In the Big Scheme of things vaping, in todays form, just Hasn't been around that long.

Flavors probably haven't been intensely scrutinized. Most of those are probably 3rd party creations. FDA approval for internal consumption might not be relevant to vaping, though. I'm not a big fruit/candy/cake flavor guy, anyway. If tobacco flavors aren't relatively safe, then maybe there's something to think about. Vaping under 400F helps to control the really bad stuff that emerges with high heat according to Dr Farsolino.

    I agree.

And I think Coil Temperature and Daily Consumption amounts of Flavorings is something that Every Vaper should at least Consider.

I do the same thing use just a few drops of flavoring when i get tired of vaping flavorless. I still don't trust flavors and think more concerns are to come regarding it. Just a big difference in ingesting it and vaping it into your lungs...flavors are uncharted territory and not enough is known about them

My question is if flavors is bad for your in the long term you would think people with damaged lungs to begin with would not see any improvement or at lest not major improvement's. Not saying other problems will show up but I don't think lungs will be a problem. You read on here all the time about 40- 50 year smokers that have been vaping for up to 10 years with better lung function lower bp and better over all health

Harm reduction is getting rid of the tars and carcinogens present in tobacco. Vaping does that. Vape juice is nicotine, flavors, and pg/vg mix.

Nic is the only suspect and it's not much of a risk to the body from what I've read. Flavors are ingested every day in food and drink. Propylene Glycol, along with Polyethylene Glycol is in my over the counter eye drops. It's also in hundreds of things I drink, eat, and rub on my skin. PG is vaporized every day, mixed with medications, and introduced as a fog into the lungs of hospital patients to help their lungs heal.

I've quoted all this several times, but it's worth repeating. The only thing that might be questionable is the nicotine, but whatever replaces tobacco with its tar and all its other dangers is a good thing. Reasonable levels of nic in our vape doesn't kill. It prevents us from using something that does.
I'm betting residuals from the extraction methods will prove more harmful than the nic itself...

And that it will take a long time before nic stops taking the heat for it in the general population and media.

    Artificial sweeteners?

    Safe for consumption?

    Contrast? To inhalation?

Are we to assume saccharin is back on the market because it was found to be benign as opposed to the uproar posed by its users?

Idunno, BD, but I'll bet it still tastes like poop.

I still recoil from the flashbacks of my mother giving me a Tab soda. Who would DO that to a child??? [emoji33]

I grew up on it. My mother had Type 1 diabetes, so cakes and cookies were a treat in our house.

I liked tab. Don't judge me. :) It was a new and novel item to me when we moved here. My ex-husband's mother put Coca-Cola in his Baby bottle! IDK if that was a thing back then, but based on some of her other, later actions, I'm not so sure it was... I never left her alone with the kid, LOL.

Page 31 and from what I can tell, nobody has figured out how to prove a negative!

Ah, the 60's! When the world stood at the bathroom door compared to now, having fallen in the bowl, grabbing for that handle, thinking that will help them get out. And if they are waiting for government to rescue them , they were first, jumped in thinking it was a Jacuzzi!
