Hey! me again! :)

So its been a little over a week...and my original coil is burnt.

I tried watching youtube videos on cleaning...but it was terrible...made it worse. I tried firing without the tank to burn off any water but didnt help and gave up. But when I changed the coil(BVC), my first couple of pulls tasted like the old coil burnt flavor and it was making tons of gurgle sounds...went away though...I doubt I'm going to try to ever clean or save them again. I'm not much into rebuilding coils either--barely get time to sleep with my work life.

With that said..I wanted to know what everyone is setting their Provari w/ an Aspire nautilus tank on? I've been using around 4.8 to 5.0...1.6 and 1.8ohm...I tried lowering the VV but duno the taste wasn't as strong. I'm using Mothers Milk from SB. Is a lower VV something I just have to get use to? will it increase the life span of the coil?

Is a week the typical life of these coils? I don't vape like crazy...probably 5-10min breaks during work 3-4 times..so roughly an hour or more a day...maybe sneak in a vape at night.

Thanks in advance!

My recommendation has always been to set the voltage at 2 + the resistance to start and go from there. That means start at 3.8v for your Nautilus. Other factors can affect how high you can vape including the viscosity of the e-liquid. I usually vape my Nautilus tanks at around 4.2v using an 80vg/20pg e-liquid.

When I was using clearomizers or cartotanks (factory made coils) on my Provari, I preferred higher ohms and lower voltage. Something like 2.0 - 3.0 ohm coils and vaped between 3.4 - 4.0 volts.

I'm now rebuilding exclusively with a Kayfun Lite Plus rebuildable tank atomizer, using a 1.5 ohm coil and still vaping between 3.4 - 4.0 volts.

I'm a Tootle Puffer (high ohm, low voltage). :)

Why Provari?

_____________

Coil resistance on factory made coils can vary +/- 0.2 ohm from what they are supposed to be rated at. Sounds like your coil is bad.

even with the new coil, I feel like I'm getting dry hits...could it be possible I damaged my tank by cleaning it with water? I didn't suberge it, just q-tip and water.

A little water never hurts as long as there's no water on your electronics. Do you prime your coils with eliquid?

Looks like my coil is reading a 1.2, its an 1.8ohm...I assume something with the coil is bad.

Probably.

I have two Provaris going ATM.
One has a month old 2 ohm carto (in a tank) that now reads 3 ohm, and the Provari is now set at 4v (it was set at 3.5v when the carto was new)

The other has a 6 week old 3 ohm carto (in a tank) that now reads 3.8 ohms, and the Provari is now set at 5v (it was set at 4.4v when the carto was new)

Understand tho' that I set the power level to satisfy ME, and no one else.

My Q is, why would I want to use a clearo that a $3 coil lasts a week in when a $1 carto lasts a month?!?

A lower voltage would increase the life span of an atomizer. And yes, a week is about average at that voltage.

A week for a coil? Seriously? What are you cooking?

I have a nautilus and never 'had' to change a coil. I don't use it anymore, but my T3'D is going for about a month now with the original. I have a pack of 5 when I need them.

When I was using the Nautilus Mini exclusively, the coil would typically last me about a week and a half (about 40 ml of juice, I was filling the tank twice a day). After that, it would still produce the same amount of vapor, but the taste would be a little off and would taste a little burnt unless I turned the power down. That would be my cue to change the coil. Now that I am using subohm tanks and I am rotating throughout the day with 5 different tanks, the coils are lasting me about 3-5 weeks each, depending on whether I am using one tank more than the other. I have one Subtank Mini that I started with a prebuilt nickel OCC. Because I am using it sparingly (I refill the 4 ml tank about every 3 days) I am still using the first coil I put in there. I started using that coil on April 11 (the day I got the SX Mini M Class) so that means I have been using the same coil for 5-1/2 weeks now.

It just shows you know not enough about coils, juices, wattages and cabbage.

what kind of juice are you using? ... I can't imagine how horrible it must taste after a month

For unflavored, wicks (and coils) last if not forever, but for a very long time definitely.

The hangsen eliquid I used burned very clean also. Problem is the "Premium / Signature", yea, like that's just sales pitch, amusing that you guys flock to it, crap you inhale.

If it takes out a coil in a week, it takes intelligence to inhale that.
