I have a mini Provari and love how the carto DCT tanks are hitting, vaping, and tasting. I have Boge and SmokTech tanks and thus far I've had no problems or complaints. I've done my share of research and ended up going with the carto tanks for a few months now. I'm liking it but looking to see if any of you have had good/better experiences with other types of tanks?

Things I considered:
o ejuice flavor maintenance
o no leakage
o ease of use
o vapor consistency
o quality
o cost
o air draw (I prefer easy draws)
And of course...
o style

I don't know much about clearomizers (anyone care to give a simple rundown?). For Vivi Novas, unless they're the real ones (fake ones tend to not have any air holes on the bottom threading of the tank... While the real ones have that air hole. At least from what I've heard), the flavor of the ejuice tends to not come out the way it was intended to.

Please share your thoughts, opinions, and personal experiences with other or these types of tanks with a Provari device. Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

I have not been impressed with any string-wicked delivery device. It's my belief that the minimal surface area of a couple stringed wicks CAN NOT compete with the surface area of all that polyfill in a cartomizer that surrounds the atomizer. More surface area to the atomizer = more juice = more flavor. Win-ning!!

Cartotanks or rebuildables :thumb:

Clearomizers, Vivi Nova style delivery systems :nah:

Having said that, I continue to suggest string wicked delivery devices to young vapors because of their ease of use vs the somewhat higher learning curve of a cartotank, or the much higher learning curve of a rebuildable atomizer. I also recommend that they try a variety of delivery devices in case they can find one that best suits them.

Many people prefer a clearomizer or vivi nova tank over a cartotank. I'm fine with that. Whatever keeps you off of the smokes, go at it.

Like how DCT tanks stand for Dual Coil Tanks.
Before DCT's and dual coil cartomizers were even thought of, there were only single coil cartomizers. Then, Smoktech made one of the very first cartotanks, and with every one they sold they included a new dual coil cartomizer. The name for the tank stuck for all cartotanks of that design, much like Band Aid is synonomis for elastic bandage or Q Tip for cotton tip applicator.

Many newcomers aren't aware that a DCT can use a single coil cartomizer if it is the correct length (ie Boge XL).

What does IBTank stand for?
It's just a slang term that the glass specialist OCD has named the company, "I be tanked." He has quite a sense of humor, he calls his wife The Mrs and his daughter The Offspring. I did a detailed review of both the tanks and the company here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3318-3-ibtanked-pyrex-glass-tanks-review.html

What size 510 carto does it use?
You can use a standard length carto with the standard size tanks, and an XL carto with the XL length tanks. The below diagram can help decide tank/carto and what brand of carto. There are currently two diameter tanks to choose from: 19mm and 25mm.

tank lengths.jpg

IBTanked-large-small.jpg These are an XL and standard length, 19mm diameter for comparison on Provari mods.

IBTanked-on-Spinner.jpg The slimmer 19mm diameter on a Vision eGo Spinner.

IBTanked25mmsb.jpg The wider 25mm diameter on a Silver Bullet mod

And what's the main difference with DCT tanks vs IBTanks?
None except for the material of the tube. The tubes of most DCT tanks are either polycarbonate or polypropylene plastic. The IBTanks are pyrex glass.

Looks like IBTanks are the clear winner here. Any suggestions where I could find some at a good price?
They are only available at IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!

I have some useful information on cartomizers and tanks in my blogs. I invite you to read them:

My favorite tank for use with a Provari is a Phiniac tank. They are also made of Pyrex. They arent as inexpensive as IBTanks but have more customization options and are really durable.

Phiniacs feature slightly thicker glass that goes through an annealing process. You can see videos on their site showing just how tough they are.

They are both great tanks but if you have 60 bucks to spend I highly recommend the Phiniac. The also offer custom graphics if you dont find anything you like on their site.Just send an email to Moorea who will get back to you usually in 24 hours.
