Any opinions on High Desert vape tanks? I like the hand blown glass tanks! Phiniac doesn't seem to have much available right now.
I have a couple of their tanks. The owner has a glass blower that he has an arrangement with. I had been wanting him to make a tree from tank for me, only with the colors that I wanted. The custom tanks are more expensive. Someone anounced that High Desert Vapes was offering a 2-4-1 sale on tanks, so I knew that was the opportunity to get a custom tank done. The 2-4-1 tank deal helped ease the blow of the higher cost of the custom tank by getting a second tank for free.

These tanks do not use the traditional endcaps, but soft silicone grommets in their place. Some tanks that use the grommets can be a pain, but these tanks are fine. They hold the carto snuggly, not too tight, not too loose. My two tanks both use a standard length carto, but some of the other tanks may need an XL length and it isn't listed on the website which length carto each tank needs.

i Agree with this. The 510 to 510 adapter has taken care of this problem for me as well. They only cost a couple dollars.

Also ( I don't think I saw this mentioned) you could buy a 510 to 510 adapter which raises it enough to get airflow. I have one battery my UDCT tanks sit flush with and this solved the issue. You can get them for a buck and a half or so. Hope you get it solved, as while I have IBT tanks I also use the UDCT when traveling and at work.

Just got my Provari and did some research on Cartomizer tanks because I wanted to switch from the Vivi Nova. Nothing wrong with the Vivi, just having trouble finding replacement heads and I don't like how the colored liquids make the wicks look stained and gross after a couple days. (I know, I'm picky) So I ordered this tank: https://www.myvaporstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=UDCT-TC

I ordered it because it has a bottom that screws on to lock in the carto to the tank to avoid pulling the tank off the carto when you pull it out of your pocket, purse, etc. I often pick up my PV by the tank and I've read that can be a problem and liquid spills everywhere when that happens BUT ... with the tank I ordered, you can't screw the tank all the way in or else it blocks the air flow and you get ZERO draw from the drip tip. I have to unscrew it slightly and get it "just right" to be able to get enough air flow in order to vape but now the tank is loose on the Provari. I tried the tank on a ego-T MOD bat I have and same thing. THIS TANK STINKS!

Now I have cartomizers and no tank (that I like). Any suggestions? All our welcome. I'm fairly new to vaping. I know enough to be dangerous. Been vaping since late October but this is my first carto experience and it's not a good one. I'm thinking of ordering more Vivi's and just sticking with them. I'm FRUSTRATED.

I have the same tank. The only way it'll work on a Provari is if you take off the bottom 'collar'. The tank isn't going to pull off of the carto from lifting it by the tank.

Hate to say it, but those tanks look poorly made. The frog isn't melted in enough. It will crack off. Possibly today, possibly in a year. Also possible that it could happen just sitting there. Glass is a strange medium.

The Phiniac tanks that are "Sold Out" are one-offs. They still have plenty of custom sand-blasted tanks with different colors and designs as they make them on demand. Just ordered my second one (although I agree they should probably remove the "sold out" tanks from the website...I think it confuses people).

LOVE the frog! Doesn't look like they hold much juice though. I'm going with IBTanked that you suggested. You were right, you can order the tube and rings, etc. The kit isn't on sale because they are out of cartos!

That's how I'm running it now. Won't order another one of these! Taking off the bottom collar works but it's LOUD. But it works and I'm happy for it because I don't have a huge supply of tanks and I loaned out a couple for people to try the ecig experience so it's ALL I have right now. I have a couple orders in for tanks to build up the supply ... for now ... I'm stuck with it until the mailman delivers. :mail: Won't catch me slummin like this again. Lesson learned!

Thanks for the visual bckane! Millwright.Mike suggested the same thing. Hopefully with a little modification, the tank will work. I'll have to get on that! I do need more tanks and the suggestions on here have been good ones. I started out with a bunch of clearomizer tanks that come with the starter kits, quickly moved on to the Vivi because it stored more liquid and this is my first experience with a carto tank. I need to build up my inventory of tanks for sure! Just hated to spend the money and have it not work on my device. Someone earlier stated that I can't call the tank "junk" just because it doesn't work on MY device because it may work fine on another. I've tried the tank on the ProV, the ego-T MOD, and the little ego-C's I have ... same result. I'm sure there is something out there it would work on, however, being fairly new to this world and trying to understand it all ... I went in thinking a 510 connection should work fine on my 510 devices (especially my "cadillac" ProVari) so you can imagine my disappointment when it didn't. But! Lucky me, I have all you wonderful, supportive folks on here to set me strait, show me how to modify it, show me what I should be buying and make it a possitive experience afterall! And for that I am truly greatful! :)

one more thing you can try, take a piece of paper or plastic and cut it in a ring. Then give it a slot, this works just fine

make it a bit smaller then your device so you dont see it........hope this helps :)

Phiniac tanks are great. I have 2 of their sandblasted tanks I use with ego-c twist batteries on the go and on my provari at home. They work perfectly, good tight seal so no slipping of the cartos or anything like that. Pyrex tubes too so 'tank cracking juice' doesn't hurt them. I got mine with the stainless caps so they can get pricey but if you really want a quality piece that is customized just for you phiniac may be the way to go.

Your visuals help A LOT!!! I need visuals, I'm new. So they are much appreciated! Although ... the paper/plastic idea does look a little "sketch" hahahaha But if it works, it works. :D

When I refill my IBTanked, is will be slippery for a few minutes. After that, the "O" rings make a seal and it's snug and no slipping.

That was one of the tanks I considered when researching carto tanks, I didn't get it because of the "slipping" issue. So you can't pull it off the tank or do you still need to be careful? I'm just debating whether or not to spend more $ and stick with the carto tanks or go back to the vivi. I'm on the fence. It's not looking good for the cartos either. Thanks for the replies everyone!!!!

If these tanks ever come back in stock... AGR Locking Tank Very nice locking carto tank with a fill hole at the top, so if you have a sharper bottle or a needle tip bottle you can fill it much easier than a normal tank.

This tank is also available at different vendors, steam monkey was just the first on the search.

You're the expert. I'll only say this. I am sometimes hard on my gear. This tank has hit the ground on top of a PV a couple of times, and little froggy looks good as new. I've had the tank approximately 6 months.

This tank holds 2.5ml of juice. That's 0.5 ml more than the XL 19mm IBTanked.

Yeah I just ordered a couple. Really hope they get to me before I go out of town for 3 weeks because I think these are really going to work out for me. LOVE the fact that there are air slits built into the bottom screw cap so don't have to worry about the airflow issue on my provari's.

Insanely good price too, there is a coupon on ........'s blog.
