Nope... it's 9 clicks wait 10th click for me. They must have changed it. Maybe you have a V1.

5 power on

power down

power off - take your finger off the button for a second, it will show "On," click to turn it off.
I'm going to have to test... just don't know how I would know if it does go on. Pressing the button 10 times is a pain in the behind!

It's really not a pain when you get used to it. There is a rhythm to the menu, I can do it with my eyes closed. <incorrect information deleted>
Huh? I think your first message said you never remember to do it, yet your second says it's not that hard... I'm confused...

I think that might not be correct about turning it back on. With mine anyway, you have to cycle back through to PO, switch it to on, and then it'll be on. I just tried turning it off, then going to PU, and tried firing it and it didn't work.
To the OP, I wouldn't worry about it firing in your pocket, its never happened to me
I misread your post, I thought you meant the overall menu is a pain. My apologies.
I turn mine off when I don't anticipate using it for awhile, thinking it would help preserve the battery.
It's really bizarre that you went from 'doing it with your eyes closed' to never having done it. Very strange.

??? I can scroll through the menu with my eyes closed to get to the functions I use. I do not use Po or Lo, so I skip right passed them. Does that make sense to you now?
