I would also check to make sure your spring is properly installed in that bottom cap, it sounds to me that once there is pressure on the spring after a little nit it is finally making contact, take that spring out and put it back in and make sure it is seated properly, then try it and see if it works right away, I kind of think this is it.

Provari is my favorite mod in adition to a VV Wood mod I have, It works really good, but my personal recomendation is that when your going on patrol take a mechanical 3.7v or 5v mod because Provari have eloctronics inside and it might get damage by the dust down there ( unless you pmcs it every day before and after) But what I did down there last year was to use my vv box I got to try vv in the living area and the 3.7v mechanical out side. I got my Provari as a welcome back gift, and I am very happy with it.
