Hi guys i just want to know if anyone of you tried using a aw imr 18500 batt on the provari mini with the extension cap instead of 18490? Will it be ok if i use the 18500 instead? Thanks for the feedback!!

I think the black ones are protected and different chemistry. They might work if you don't try to push them too much. If you try too high wattage the protection will probably kick it out. Also they are going to be a little longer so you won't be able to screw the cap on all the way. might damage something if you crank it on too much.

The 18500 are only about 1mm longer than an 18490
