It amazes me how many people talk about the price of specific things in the vaping world. So what, smoking was inexpensive? Compare the provari to a cpl cartons of gross cigarettes. It's not very hard to justify paying a certain amount for something that keeps you away from smoking. At least IMO.

Sure, the start-up cost is more, but a persons gotta look at the bigger picture. Simple logic.

Now, I have 3 provari's and love them. I also have 2 lava tubes and like them, too.

To answer the question of whether it's worth it or not.... Yes it is.

Why buy a grand am, if you can have the Mercedes?

I look at every purchase I make as time spent at work. I just bought a LT and it cost me $25 or about 2 hours of work after taxes. A Provari would cost me at lest 12 hours of work. That is 12 hours less time with my family or fishing or whatever.

Much worse when you get to a Mercedes. Again think of it in hours. If you have to work a two years worth of wages to buy one is it worth it?

For some people it's more than 12 hours of work in fact it might be all the disposable income they have for three months. Furthermore, there are lots of us who used to Roll our own smokes and it was cheep. I'm talking about $10 a month.

Money is relative to the time spent earning it.

Why buy a grand am, if you can have the mercedes? How about this? Why spend two years of your life working for a tool that works no better than the other tool for one tenth the price?

Back to the question about is it worth it? For me it is. For you, I don't know. I use/abuse my provari for one and a half year now, still working as new (with some scratches and dink on the body). Hit as good as new. Vape as it was set to, if I set it to 4.5 volt, it will provide me 4.5 volt regardless what kind of atty / carto I'm using. On lavatube? No it won't. I never dropped my lavatube (early version of LT), but the 510 connector are crooked to one side, when I try to straighten it, it was pulled off, still works but damn I'm so dissappointed. Sure it's cheaper, much cheaper than a provari, but I'm not satisfied at all by that. Some says that, if your LT is busted, just buy another, still cheaper than a Provari. Will I buy another LT? Hell no.
Sorry, not bashing at LT, but their quality are sadly dissapointing for me. I heard that Vmax are much better.
I'm still waiting for my SS Vmax to arrive, why still I bought a Vmax after using a Provari? Because I want it, not because I need it.
Sorry to sound like a fanboy, I use a provari and a reo for my daily activities, nothing else. It's been more than a year for those two, haven't failed me yet.

The Provari ruined my life.

I could have stuck with my regular v2... then I ordered a mini.

I could be sleeping but... I suppose im too excited for my mini to come in.

Provaris are addictive and promote insomnia.

Please don't buy one.

I've got an LT from each maker, they both work but not exactly as I like. The first one has too low of an amp limit, it really limits what will work very well on it. Also it has plastic end caps that aren't very robust. The second has metal end caps, higher amp limit and plays better with more attys/cartos. It uses unfiltered PWM on the boosted 6 volts. When set to 3v it is pulsing 6v at a 50% duty cycle, this 6v pulse is enough to throw off the flavor of some juices, Boba's Bounty being one of them and a favorite of mine. Both have sagging voltage as the batts drain. Both will drop voltage to get below the amp limit, neither will show that this is happening. For the resons listed above and the fact that I needed something smaller I got a Provari Mini. It took me a while to get past the price, but I'm glad I finally did. I've got three Odys and a Penelope that I use on it and I'm in vaping heaven. I used the Odys on the LT's and they worked great on most juices, but the 6v pulse changed a few from how I like them. Now I can get everything exactly how I like it. Also results are so good now that I've dropped my nic level from 24mg to 18mg. I'd been wanting a GGTS badly and now they are available to order but I've changed my mind on them. I'm actually content with my vaping experience for the first time since I started. I'm no longer chasing down the next new thing. I can now picture myself gradually reducing nic levels until I'm done vaping. This thought never even occured to me before my current setup.

You will notice the majority of people saying the LTs are better don't own a Provari. They say it to expensive. The Provari is better made, better preforming, and is way more durable.
There is really no comparison with these two mods except they are both round tubes. I have both So I can honestly say the Provari is better.
Now there's the American factor. We all know part of our job problem is because of buying cheaply produced products from other country's. So for me its a no brainier buy both;)
If you want medeoker performance get the LT

Smoking 2 PAD, in one month I paid for my Provari. We forget the true cost of smoking. And Provari has saved me money because I would still be buying hardware to get what I thought would touch the Provari. As of now I couldn't care less what is out there.
Provari's remind me of German made products, the fit, finish, and performance. I play German made Sonor drums and they are amazingly thought out. The metal work is second to none. With exception to the Provari.

Because that person sees a value in that purchase that you do not. You will both pull up to the light, you in your Kia or whatever, he in his Mercedes, and both be smug with your value decision while deriding the other for their choice.

What's the real point of this besides elitism? I'm sure it's very nice but unless you're DIYing in with the most awesome atty/tank in the world does it really matter?

One thing I have learned about the EC/ECF is it's a giant money pit of never really being happy cause there's always some new crap to buy. Get this then you'll need to get the best atty then mod it then DIY your best flavors, then oops! some new crap came out which is now better. Remember when you just went to the store, lit up a smoke and relaxed? EC is a never ending escalation of money spent on diminishing returns... And let's be honest it's a fanboy product..."But, Ralikar, man, you just have no clue how awesome my vape is at 3.675 volts, man, it's soo creamy, bro...".
Nobody should blame ECF for their own inability to resist buying something.

What's with all the capital letters in your posts lol?
Somebody eventually had to ask. I'm just glad it wasn't me, though I have been tempted a thousand times!
I was scared to ask because, quite frankly, I thought zoiDman had some sort of strange variation of dyslexia or something.

Lol He liked to use capitalization for emphasis as opposed to using it according to the "proper rules of grammar".
Sort of like how I absolutely REFUSE to put punctuation inside the quotation marks.

Someone, who you Probably know, did ask me a Long Time Ago about the Caps.

I told him that I was using a Early USB v1.0 Keyboard and that the Cap Lock Key would go on and off Randomly. He said he Understood and Never said another word about it.

LOL

I'm assuming his acceptance of your answer indicates that he had similar concerns, since that answer doesn't fly.
Unless of course your Caps Lock Key was amazingly accurate in randomly picking out the first letter of words when it chose when to misbehave.
:)

And no, I'm not worried about hijacking this thread... it's just another "cost of the Provari" thread.
And the hijacking has become more informative than the original purpose.

EDIT: Nothing against the original poster, or the topic of this thread.

I kinda assumed he did Also. But like you said, How can you call out someone who might have a "variation of dyslexia or something."

You never know though. Sometimes if you tell someone a Huge Lie with a completely Straight Face, that they will Buy It.

That's the exact strategy I use with my wife.
And for over 23 years it has worked spectacularly well thus far.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
:)

EDIT: No sweetheart, I didn't have a Western Bacon Cheeseburger today, I had a salad.

Absolutely.

When I’m asked Who ate the Last piece of Blueberry Cheesecake (or whatever), I just say with a Straight Face, “A Bear Eat It.”

I’ve done it So Many times that I’m Seldom even asked Anymore.

Problem Solved.

Nothing is more divisive on here than any mention of the P-word, in any context! LOL

What I would Like to see is a Mod to take the Biggest, Provari Cost Thread, or Provari vs. Lavatube Thread, give it a Number and Make it Sticky.

Then when this Topic comes up Again for 567th time, people could just Post…

See Sticky #47

I always thought ZoiDman had one of those Pv's with the bottom buttons. Then, when he types, he exercises his pinky fingers by randomly hitting the shift key- keeping said finger strong and flexible for his vaping needs.

If we all chip in and buy him some auto batteries, perhaps it'll stop and he'll become like normal folk- but I doubt it :).

I'm not sure if Auto Batteries would Help. But by all means, Do Send Them.

Maybe some New Cartos and a Few New Tanks would Help Also?
