So I ordered the provari. Should be here by the end of the week.

Im sure this question has been asked, I tried searching but can't seem find a straight answer.
I ordered the starter kit. It comes with the pro tank I believe.

1. What I'm looking for are tanks that do not need to be rebuilt. The easier the better for me. I've been on some sites but can't tell if they're rebuildable or not.

2. How long do the coils usually last?

I need all the help I can get, lol. I really don't want to be rebuilding anything.

Any other recommendations for using the provari? I'm all ears at this point..

thanks

Welcome to the forum :toast:

Well, you certainly didn't waste any time, did you. The Provari is a top-of-the-line device and usable with just about any topper (slang term for the various tanks, cartos, rebuildables, etc. you can use to store and vaporize your juice).

The Protank is a good starting place. It has a bottom coil unit (as opposed to top coil), which has garnered a devoted following. It is arguably the most popular (i.e., most used) tank in all of vaping. The company that makes them - Kanger - has other options for tanks as well. Pretty much all of them are well adopted by folks in here. Notably, the EVOD and T3S tanks are very popular, while the new flagship is the Aerotank, which boasts adjustable air flow control.

Other bottom coilers (BCC's) to consider would come from the Aspire family, which has a line that competes size for size with the PTanks.

All of these use disposable coil units. You can clean them a few times before you have to throw them away, and your mileage will vary depending on the juice (high VG and sweet juices gum up coils faster) and your rate of vaping. Some folks even rebuild the little coil units, but it's not required - just pop in a fresh one and vape away. This all said, you can expect a coil to start feeling blech (muted flavour, usually) after between 5 days to 2 weeks.

Carto tanks are pretty nice and seem to be popular with the ProVari crowd. I bought a IBTanked carto tank and have been really happy with it. It's about as trouble free as you can get and I have been using it much more than my clearos (Evod and Mini Pro Tank II). The 19mm tank will fit the ProVari (same size as the inner top ring) or you can use the 22mm with a IBTpro ring that you can buy from IBTanked (and there are other options for slightly different versions). The IBTpro ring creates a seamless look.

I agree with the Carto tanks. I just got into them and they really are a world of difference (to me, at least).
IBTanks are great and not too much more money than the Protanks.

I like the 22mm tanks with the ring.

Don't be intimated by learning to use a carto tank. It's really easy and once you do it yourself it's a no-brainer.

Yep... easiest no brainer 'tank' is a carto tank.

Batitude has a series of blogs that show you how to fill one and how it works. They are reasonably priced and last practically forever too, and many different companies make them. You should try to find real stainless steel caps and thick glass for the tanks, and they will last forever!

Thank you all.
I went big early, lol. I figured why spend hundreds on middle grade stuff when I'd go big eventually anyway.

The way I'm working right now, 70+ hours a week, I don't want to deal with rebuilding things.

I was checking out those ibtanked ones. I like the look. The nice thing about my situation is money isn't an object right now, so I can buy a few different things to see what I like.

Thanks for the replies

You can find blog articles on the Provari, a cartotank tutorial, vendor list of pre-punched cartos, a review of the IBTanked pyrex cartotank and more in my blogs:

I have nothing against ProTanks, I really like mine, but I rebuild my coils. Honestly, for a no-fuss setup, I really would recommend a good Pyrex carto tank like an IBTanked. (Plus for an extra $12.50 you can add a "beauty ring" to your order that makes for more of a flush-fit look between their 22mm tanks and the ProVari. ;) )
