So I picked up a V1 in the classies a few weeks back, and it is performing flawlessly. Currently my happy vape place is running IGO-L at 1.4Ω at 3.6V, and Protank 2's at 1.8Ω at about 3.6-3.7V. This is where I have pretty much settled in with my vape routine. I have read the archived threads that I could find about upgrading to V2, and do have other ProVari V2.5's in my rotation. On quick glance around me, the room is filled with a cloud of vapor, and am satisfied with how well this unit hits, and the flavor and temperature of the vapor production. Part of me is tempted to sent it in for the upgrade, and part of me wants to keep the unit in its original "as released to the wild" state. I am more leaning towards keeping it as is, and enjoying it as is. I am kind of curious how many V1 owners are out there that are still vaping away on V1's in original "as released" condition? I don't believe that the 2.5amp to 3.5amp limit increase is going to affect me in my current setups... is there any benefit in my case to upgrade?

No, the menu is the same. The upgrade offers 3.5amp up to 4.2V, above which the hard deck becomes 14.5watts, and voltage down to 2.9V-6V vs 3.3V-6V with a 2.5 hard deck on the amps across the range for the V1. In my mind the upgrade was to accommodate running carto's at higher voltages than I will probably ever use with my preferred setups...?
Oh, almost forgot...resale? not ever going to be any resale of my ProVarii, at least while I'm this side of the big sleep ;)

I have a V1 that I never got around to upgrading, and don't plan on doing so. I've only rarely seen an E2 and most of them were ages ago when I bought standard LR attys that went lower ohms with age.

I haven't needed to use it, but I like the idea it can withstand the Isopropyl dip should it become necessary. I don't believe any 2.5 can and only some of the 2.0's, depending on when they were made.

An update, I have returned home from my week long road trip, and used the V1 ProVari as my primary device. Three years old and ticks like a clock. Not one error code and with my current setup: Protank II with Aerobase and cotton wicked 1.8Ω coils firing at 3.6V, produced plenty of vapor and left me quite satisfied. I actually feel that I could get by very comfortably with just a V1 ProVari in its original state if need be. Truth be told I have found that I have a strong preference for the tactile feel and grip of the strait cut flutes of the original body. Time to watch the classified section some more ;)
