Vape mail brought my new tank from Vaperfexion, a Pro V2, this morning. It is a skirted tank that covers the angled top of the ProVari giving it more of a hybrid look. It came with a punched carto in place that leaked and gurgled badly within minutes of filling. Tossed it and put in a Ikenvape and all is good. The Ikenvape carto is only temporary, I have a Killer 705 rebuildable tank atomizer on it's way from Greece to go in the tank. The skirt has air holes in two of the "pips", draw is about perfect with the Ikenvape carto.

Vaperfexion also sells the Pro-Vex which is similar but has a taller more angled top cap. Pyrex tubes will be offered soon as well.

I know I am asking a question in an older thread but I am curious about something and perhaps I am misunderstanding things.

The reason I have not tried an atomizer is I have read that atomizers do not have as good of taste. I do realize some like atomizers better. Today I was reading that cartos have a more muted flavor but then those were more expensive atomizers so I am going to guess quality is a factor.

Because if what I have read I never tried an atomizer. I see you are going to change from the cartomizers to the Killer atomozer. Does the Killer atomizer not mute the flavor as much as a cartomizer?

Many people prefer vaping on a "dripping" atomizer because there is no poly filler (cartomizer) or silica string wicks (clearomizer or vivi nova style tank) to "color" or mute the flavor of the juice. The trade off has always been that atomizers can only hold a few drops of juice at a time, and need to have juice "dripped" into the atomizer repeatedly to continue vaping. Dripping has always been thought of as the purest form of vaping as far as flavor production goes.

The newer AMP tank and Killer atomizer (separate products) use new technology to allow an atomizer to be submurged into a tank full of juice. Thereby, combining the best features of dripping and a tank in one device...at least in theory. ;)

I guess then the question I have to ask the answer will be a partial guess.

The question is "Should I buy one?" which spawns a bunch of other questions.

Clean space vs accumulation:

If I don't use it I don't want the clutter. If it is a back up I might be able to justify it. Is a cartomizer and atomizer using the same tank truely a backup to each other?

On the clutter side if it turns out I like the atomizer better I don't have to get another tank, the cartomizer tank works. If I would never use the atomizer after trying it I have more stuff setting in a box.

Cost vs convenience:

I am assuming using cartomizers is more convenient but I don't know this to be true. If rebuilding an atomizer will last multiple cartomizers the work in maintaining a atomizer might be worth it. This part is about time, not about money. Time is more important to me than small amounts of money.

It is a matter if I have cartomizers and an atomizer that use the same tank would I use both? Would I gravitate towards one or the other?

Would long run cost differentials amount to enough to be a factor in the decision. Short run cost is irrelevant, long run cost might be irrelevant but I am willing to pay a more for a little savings in time but I don't know if there is any long run savings in time.

Will I like the vaping experience of the Killer over a cartomizer. I don't have a clue. I think I would have to try it first.

Hmmmm

I have a question that I think is impossible to answer.
