Yes, I agree. Its not so much the system itself, but "some" of the owners.

All through my life, I have run into the "I have to be better than you". I remember when Nike sneakers first came out...whoa! Anyway, self-respect is built by doing what is right in accordance with the variables. Ego, is wanting others to do the same.

Now, on the other side of the coin are those that have animosity to those owners because of some reason.

To each, their own choice, by happy, and don't expect others to see it the same way.

The provari fanboys speak of it as its the end all be all device, that it will never break, that it will make you breakfast every morning, that it (I love this one) makes the vapor taste better than other devices at the same power, including the mvp and mechs. They talk too much about the warranty, which is frankly a joke, and trash all other devices.

I had a provari. I sold it for a reason.

It goes hand in hand with people with iphones. People think that the provari is the end all device, saying it last for years, and the warranty, and the craftmanship is second to none and what not. If you wanna buy a device that works for a while, then yes get a provari. But if your like me, and like to get a new mod every couple of months, then go with something along the lines of a DNA device. I've tried a provari and its no better than my Hana.

SMH...Since I started vaping (circa 2009) I've owned every possible device.

Found some to perform well, others not so much!
Found some to stand the test of time, others not so much!

Who cares? I still have my original Provari & REO, they work and they keep me off analogs!

I also have mechs, clones, and many VV/VW from China.

All have a purpose in my rotation, and none collect dust.

In fact, I just bought a cool Spinner that replaced an eGo Twist which died after 2 years!

Both sides in this ridiculous argument are pathetic!

Get a life and vape on!

Exactly! I am rather partial to lurking on these threads rather than participating.

I must say though, recommendations from Baditude carry a lot of weight with me. Via his blogs on battery safety, cartos & tanks and the MVP, I have enjoyed many leaps in my understanding and quality of my vapes. I suppose if I am a fanboy of anything, it would be Baditudes Blogs!

I'm hostile to the Provari and owners of it for the same reason I'm hostile to the BMW and owners of those: I can't afford either, and I don't appreciate being made to feel that I'm part of "the great unwashed" because I have to live on a strict budget.

Also, Provari's don't have variable wattage, which I've come to feel is necessary. So unless they eventually do come out with one of those, I'll never buy one, even if I win the lottery.

I might buy a beemer, though... if I win the lottery. :D

to be fair, there is some honesty to the taste thing. it can be highly dependent on the topper, though.

for example, if you watch PBusardo reviews, he graphs the outputs on an oscilloscope. the 0-scope shows that the prothingy and the mvp have near flat signals and that the prothingy outputs the voltage it's set at whereas the mvp tends to often output ~0.2V under it's setting.

now, of course someone could simply raise the output of the mvp by 0.2V in relation to the prothingy, so, meh... for the price difference it's your call as to what's important to you.

but when compared to 33Hz mods, there is a difference. this is where the atty of choice plays a big role. if you're using a rebuildable with .30 gauge, .28 gauge, etc. kanthal or the likes, then there isn't going to be a difference that's worth noting. but if you like to use cartos... especially in tanks... then it's going to be easy to notice that the 6V output over heats the coil, pulses and cools at an audible tone. this means not only can you burn your juice at the same setting as you'd enjoy on an mvp or prothingy with a steadier output, but while it's burning you hear the tone and it can irritate the bejeebus out of you.

not that an 800Hz signal doesn't make an audible hiss, but it's not the double whammy of "the rattlesnake".

and i will concur that the warranty and warranty service is second to none. they give clear, explicit instructions, fix and return your product promptly and when i returned my wifes prothingy for service, they returned it with a little thank you prize. so obviously, they're not completely void of fault. the display on hers went awry and with only one digit, you can't exactly change settings. but it was returned to use less than a week after they received it and she got a free carto tank, drip tip and carto for our troubles.

so obviously i have a provari. i will likely be selling it for a reason, too. i like less hassle than most toppers on the market these days provide and more power and better taste than i'm going to get on the provari. i want to talk the wife out of hers in favor of a Reo Grand also.

but all in all, it is a great, sturdy, reliable product backed by a company who cares about their customers and their reputation. what's not to like?

that's not to say that i think it's any better than say a semovar and obviously it's not going to hold a candle to a dna mod, but you'll be hard pressed to find a 15W variable mod with better performance, reliability, ruggedness, accuracy and a better company backing it.

Cuz of this:
"I'm a new vaper that is using *insert basic battery here*, and I'm enjoying it, but I'm looking for a good APV."
"Get a Provari!"
"Yeah, GET A PROVARI!"
"I third the Provari. You won't regret it."

And these threads often have a budget in them, which isn't large enough for a provari by itself..let alone batteries, tanks, and a charger.

OP, is that your steampunk in your avatar?

I love my provari's but I never stick my nose up because someone else doesn't have one. I also have kicked mechs I love to pieces. DNA clone on the way as well. I'm no provari snob and I have an iPhone as well. So what? I love the variety of devices vapers choose, and whatever keep you off analogs is great with me. A vaper is a vaper is a vaper! My buddy just got his provari at vape bash, and the look on his face when he vaped it for the first time was priceless. Are there other devices that stack up or are better, for sure, but none have the track record and durability. To each their own vape on!

I try to stay out of these threads..but

This is how I see it, it has nothing to do with a person owning a Provari, they are probably ... hats in real life with or without a Provari.

One of the guys I hoop with owns a Provari and swears by them, nice dude and respectfully off and on the court....and on the flip side...a newbie vapor at my work got Provari and was telling everybody at work about his Provari and how it's the ultimate e-cig over our stuff, ...he was jerk to begin with even before owning ProVari. He told me with all the money I spend on Mechs, I could get few ProVari..."I said nah..I like things simple...Provari is too advance for me.." :vapor:

all that goes out the window when people say the provari vapes better than a mech at the same wattage. No it doesn't, that's expectation bias

agreed... also when they start arguing why VW or VV are better than one another.

if you can't figure out how to raise or lower your setting, you've got bigger problems and probably shouldn't be allowed to play with anything that runs on batteries.
