Finally, and for @Bronze , it was this, very specifically, that first spun me on my head for Rush. I heard it on a friend's "All the World's a Stage" album and was hooked.

I think I was maybe 14-15 years old (or thereabouts). I've never looked back since.

Regrets, I have none (at least where Rush is concerned).

Yeah, that live recording will do it. First time I heard Rush was at a house party in 1975. They were playing (as it turned out) their first album. Loved it but never found out who it was until maybe a couple months later. I was at my bud's house and he played it and I'm like, "That's it!". Then I found out they had two other albums (Fly By Night and Caress of Steel). I was hooked. Then one night WXRT (a B-side radio station in Chicago) played 2112 in it's entirety. It was a couple weeks before it was released to the public back when radio stations got the pre-listens. I was finished. They actually spoiled me so bad that it was hard for me to get into rock n roll after that so I did a hard turn toward jazz in 1984. I never did fully jump back into R&R except for Rush and maybe some other bands to a slighter degree...mostly WXRT who would play unknowns with great music.
