Ive grown tired of dishing out more and more money for replacement parts for crappy products. Instead of spending all your time creating new products to try to sell to your customers, why not spend some time fixing the products your customers already own?

Anyways I've had it, i finally bought a device from another company, my PS devices are getting donated to my friends, I wouldn't feel comfortable selling these to anyone.

It's a prodigy v2 and a protege. But honestly I have been reading all over that even the v3 requires tons of switch maintenance and has other problems too, like the locking mechanism can get unscrewed just a bit too much and that whole end cap comes right off unexpectedly.

Puresmoker has been having switch issues since the original prodigy v1..

This many devices later the only thing puresmoker has gotten better at is finding new ways to sell us the same broken switches.

I don't own one but have read and watched mostly all of the review for the V3. Something I do before I make a purchase that I will use daily. Don't even ask how much time I spent on car forums before getting the my first car...

Anyways, it is a mechanical switch so I think maintenance is a must. Like a bike chain, you don't oil frequently then it starts to rust and performance decreases. I think that it takes a little more turning to actually get the bottom part to come off, actually a good couple more turns. From everthing I've gathered is that just apply a little bit of noalox every week or so and it should be fine.

A device this good looking that can vape at 6v or 3.7v or even 5v with 17670 AW batteries + LR atomizer, I don't think it gets much better. Hope I can get one soon.

The Prodigy V2 & Protege will literally last you a life time if you take care of them properly. You've decided not to perform any type of maintenance and therefore, the components do eventually wear down. The choice is up to the user, and you made your choice.

As for saying there are issues with the V3 ... "like the locking mechanism can get unscrewed just a bit too much" .... um .... When the locking mechanism stops, why continue to rotate it? Obviously, if you continue to rotate it, the switch will unscrew so you can take it apart (and clean/maintain it). common sense dude .... you're trying to justify something that doesn't even make sense?

Puresmoker has been having switch issues since the original prodigy v1..

Every device from almost any vendor has had switch issues. Whether that be user maintenance needed, sticking on, or simply not working. Mechanical Switches need maintenance. We decided to move from a soldered in tact switch, to a user friendly mechanical switch that the user could clean if need be.

This many devices later the only thing puresmoker has gotten better at is finding new ways to sell us the same broken switches.

...sigh... You would deny the truth if it hit you square in the face. Find your maintenance free device and when it fails and you have to send it back, don't come knocking.

the biggest maintenance you might ever need to do on the V3 or Icon is simply unscrewing a screw, and screwing a brand new one back in. And, that's if you are too lazy to put a bit of noalox on the screw.
