So. Cal
I told ya, those 2 other protected battys I got from DE were pieces of JUNK. lol You guys are the BEST for help! Thank you.

Damn it, I ordered a two pack of protected 14500's from DE as well...

Edit:

Lucky, what alternative protected 14500's have you ordered? I can't find anything other than the UltraFire/TrustFire junk? I tried AW's, but they only make 750 mAh...

cool I ordered the unprotected UF ones because I hear the protected ones don't always fit too good... And the Protege ships with the unprotected style. If you have a good charger you shouldn't worry too much about the protection issue. I use unprotected batts in the SD and have no troubles.

I ordered this style here....

Got 4 shipped for 23 bucks.
Got the Protege bare bones, 4 batts for about 80 bucks. Thank you pass thru... I can't wait... come on 20741... lol...

Nap time. lol I will get rid of them, but they are protected, but I ordered some more so waiting for them, then I'll get rid of these, promise. They are horrible, seriously, never seen some so crooked.

"Protected" just means they won't overcharge (the charger should take care of that anyway) or drain down so they're ruined. It will NOT stop an uncontrolled chemical reaction causing the battery to overheat and possibly explode.

Just so ya know ;-)

Yes, I know you are right. With them deformed like they are, it's not a good thing, huh.
