My Prothingy goes with me everywhere. And like GT, I set it on the table wherever I am. It rarely leaves my hand when walking around. People ask me about it such as, is that an ecig?, does it really work, what is that liquid?, and the best one....congratulations! :D

After explaining it, I always get that last remark :D

What about when you knock it off the table?

I have one of those super inexpensive 18650 3.7 Squire mods from Smoke Revolt. It is very compact for an 18650 and any clearo or tank of any type will screw on the top. Not too big a rig to pocket and if you lay it down horizontally on a table it will not roll off even if it's an inch from the edge. The eGo/510 connector is unshrouded but very stout. Should survive a drop unscathed. Also it works great, looks very nice especially for a cheapo, and minimizes the light saber look.

Initially, yes . . . I was reluctant to vape in public. It was the very same feeling, which I felt during the end of my tobacco burning stage, which brought the eyes of distain from the non smoking public upon me.

Then, I realized that I need not feel that way nor apologize for having chosen a healthier life style for myself. Now, I vape openly and proud. However, I so vape in the very same manner, as I had sucked on the nails. I vape in full consideration of others, whom are around me.

If you feel like you need to stealth vape, a smaller mod like the two below work great without any compromise in the quality of the vape.

I roll with a chrome silver bullet (a large 18650 mod for those who don't know), which is further enlarged by a 6ml tank & a huuuuge ming tip. I don't think twice about it, but my last SO got really embarrassed & didn't like me to use it in public. Not because of the vapor, not because e-cigs 'might be bad for you', but because it looked funny. talk about odd priorities.

I do not own a large device, such as a Vamo, and the main reason for that is I simply do not like the looks of it. But I give a lot of credit to those of you who do use them openly. I hope that someday vaping can be perceived as a social norm the same way cigarettes were in previous generations.

I do hope that e cig technology will follow in the footsteps of computer and cell phone technology, and eventually become smaller. But as it is now, the performance of smaller batteries is inferior to the larger ones. So hopefully someone will innovate a unit that can capture the best of both worlds.

I just got my Vamo, but have yet to leave the house with it.

It's huge and strange looking. My significant other thinks I should take it with me when we go out but...it looks like a light saber, or worse, some kind of *personal* device.

FUNNY THING I WASN'T A BIT EMBARRASSED ABOUT SMOKING CIGARETTES.

Do you go out with your big odd looking mods?

P.S. I do have an eGo type battery and clearomizer that looks less conspicuous, that's what I've BEEN taking out, but the vape on my Vamo is so much better.

I go out with a Sigelei ZMax telescopic (flat-top) in 18650 config. with either a T2 clearo, a EVOD, a MT3 or a Protank and using a 18650 with those on top the device is HUGE but I love it so I don't care.,

Also, I just ordered a mechanical Zenesis 2 Carto Tank Hybrid and a Zenesis 2 DX-650 that will be my new on-the-go vapes.

Considering I live in a place I don't care for (San Antonio) I don't care what people think. I even delay washing my car for that fact. On the news a man was driven off the road for wearing a Miami heat shirt (where I'm from) which reinforces my angst.

Considering the Vamo doesn't really fair well to falls I'd suggest to you the mvp for out and about. You don't have to worry about battery life and the construction is solid.

People walk up to me all the time and ask "Why are you holding a battery, two wires, and puffing on that little stick thing?"

"Well," I explain, "I don't have a MOD to be ashamed of, so I just use this........"

OK...Not.

My box mods really throw em off. It's a BOX. Puffing on a BOX with a tank on top. lol. I get a couple of double-takes once in a while. But meh.

I carry round a full-size eVic with an AMP tank with an XL-length tank tube on it on a lanyard. Never been an issue, and people ask me all the time about it.

I see it as an opportunity to spread the word about e-cigs in general, and about APVs to people who might be interested.

Open Vaping is the BEST way to "normalize" this activity. The more people who "open vape", the less the non-vaping public will perceive it as something odd or weird. Carrying big mod in public gets people used to seeing them, and if enough people do it, the novelty soon wears off, and it's no longer an issue.

Sort of like cell phones, or the open carry of handguns.

Exposure = normalization.
Normalization = acceptance.
Acceptance = fewer threats to our rights.

Do the math, folks...

I know some people have a particular cigalike they like to take out and about, again citing embarrassment. I've never understood the appeal, I want it to be OBVIOUS that it's not a cigarette I'm puffing on. I guess I'm not afraid of random confrontation with strangers and offering either information or expletives as the situation requires.

I usually carry an ego-style with a clearo on a lanyard to school with me. But that's because I realize they have a shelf-life, and if they get tangled with my purse straps or whatever and crashes onto the unforgiving concrete, it's not a big deal. Plus I'm already carrying a 30lb bookbag (most of that weight being my chemistry book, eugh) so I try and save a few ounces here and there.

If We're going out for dinner or walmarting, i'll usually carry my smoktech telescope.

Excellent observation and reasoning!! I agree completely. The more the public in general see APV models being vaped openly, the more acceptence we will garner. I vaped last night with my Vamo at the Braves baseball game. I had two people ask me about it and wanted more information for loved ones.
