The thoughts you will get are going to be vape everywhere(feed your child in public in uniform) to only vape where smoking is allowed(control) I side with only vape where smoking is allowed only not for ethical reasons alone but why open up your new habit to more spaces than before? If you just started skateboarding instead of biking would you ride the board thru the mall entrance with grandma's trying to mall walk? dont answer that.

Out in the middle of Nowhere
I have vaped in restaurants, stores, non-smokers car, WalMart, and even the Dr's office. When possible, I ask before I vape. I think that's common courtesy. So far, I've not had anyone say no they'd rather I didn't. I have actually been able to answer questions posed by smokers this way. The most common comment I've gotten is 'do those things work?' At which time I'm able to explain vaping to them.

Yeah, train stations, airports, pubs, cafes, buses, all with no problem.
In my view vaping does not pose a hazard or a discomfort to those around me, so I feel no need to refrain from doing so around them. I feel it is more comparable to taking round a fizzy drink than it is to smoking, so I would not use it in situations where that was not appropriate (e.g in a shop, in a meeting, and more besides). I would also avoid doing it openly in a hospital context and I'd ask before doing it in the workplace.

I kind of treat it like I would eating a candy bar or blowing some bubbles. I'm not going to do it in church or at a funeral, or in a company meeting.... but I vape all day at my desk (I have a little $5 desk fan so there isn't a huge plume of vapor), airports, movie theater (in the lobby not during the show). The most impressive to me has been in my mother's car. She's an ex-smoker that HATES everything to do with smoking. She said she wish they had these when she stopped. She had a tough time with cold turkey.

Basically, I'm not going to interfere with someone's viewing experience with my vapor, but I know and am willing to explain that I'm not hurting anyone. In more crowded places, I'll tell anyone in my immediate surroundings that I'm not smoking, and we're cool. I think I'll have a few converts from a bridal shower I was at recently.

I vape most places I go. Not at church, funerals or the movies. Pretty much everywhere else. Sometimes I use an ego for less visibility, sometimes I just haul out my Provari with a big tank on it. The more people who see and ask me what I'm doing and how it works are the more people I can hand a CASAA card and some vapor site business cards.

I love when I vape and someone gives me the look like I am toking on a one hitter bowl, I am like want a hit! The look I get is great. One thing is the interest from people when they see me just holding it, then comes the questions. I cannot stand this though, coming from people who have no clue, watch out those things blow up in your face! It makes me want to knock them out! They have more of a chance of their Iphone battery blowing up in their ear with how hot that gets. Vape on, its great!

I don't hide it but I don't flaunt it either, I am not allowed to vape in my office, too many issues with allergic people so we can't even wear cologne, but I do vape anyplace where there is open air or malls. Haven't had one person approach me and tell me that I couldn't.....yet....when they do I will explain to them that it is water vapor!:vapor:

I have a few guys on my crew that smoke and I like doing a stealth vape in front of them at the dinner table when we go out to eat at night. Or when I share a room with a smoker, where he has to go outside to have a smoke, while I'm laying in the motel room blowing plumes of vaper. They all want to get a PV but no one has committed yet. I guess I'll keep razzing them until they do. lol

I agree with this. I made it through many years without being able smoke in restaurants, elevators, malls, etc. So why would I suddenly need to vape in those places? I started vaping to quit smoking, not to become even MORE addicted to something else.

Living in the United Soviet New Jersey Socialist Republic, vaping is banned anywhere smoking is banned, (just about everywhere..:)).

I vape outdoors, and in my car openly with the biggest box mod and biggest tank I've been able to find or make myself. In no way do I look to something unobtrusive, small, easily hidden in hand when in public and in one of the few places where vaping is accepted.

In general I follow the same rules I did when smoking alalogs. If I can't go an hour without vaping...then I have a problem that needs addressing.

About the only exception is that I never smoked in my house, but I vape inside my house. I also love that I don't have to roll down the windows in my car when I vape.

I think I'm going to start keeping track of how often someone starts a thread on vaping in public. There must be around 1000 by now, lol.

I vape anywhere and everywhere and 99% of the time get only postive reactions. Restrurants, government buildings, stores, etc. I know that it helps that my PV looks nothing like the real thing. It also provides the opportunity to help others switch to vaping. The key is to be vape openly but respectfully.

I generally follow the vape where you can smoke rule, with a few exceptions. In questionable areas I ask. And I do it pretty much anywhere that is outdoors. For example, when I am on my university campus I vape outside everywhere even though smoking is only allowed in certain areas. I have had people tell me I can't vape except at smoking areas, but it is outside so I just politely tell them it is just water vapor and didn't know it was an issue. Then I go about my business. I haven't had anyone tell me twice. Also, since I switched from an Ecig that looks like a cigarette to a black volt with a clearomizer, I haven't had anyone say anything.

Since vaping is neither illegal or unethical, your comparison makes no sense. Plus this position infers that vaping is exactly the same as smoking. If we only vape with smokers, our actions tell everyone that vaping is just as dangerous as smoking and should be kept far away from everyone. Perception is reality and this position clearly advances the perception that vaping is the same as smoking. This feeds and supports the propaganda put out by groups like ASH that want vaping banned completely. They have petitioned local governments across the country with just this same position, i.e. that it is exactly the same as smoking and dangerours to everyone.

Instead, a position of "vaping openly but respectfully" makes more sense in the struggle to have vaping become common place, accepted and understood to be not the same as smoking.
