Pulse Genesis from fasttech short

Does anyone know about the short and how to fix it? I don't know where it is but I set it up without the reducer, single coil, no wick and there is a short that fcukd my battery. Any help is appreciated.

hye tbev, from my experiance,the short is caused by the reducer touching the centre positive post. i use small round file to shave some metal from the centre parts of the reducer.

A. You should never build and fire a coil w/o first knowing what the resistance is...EVAR!

B. Make sure the center pin isn't shorting out, as in you tightened it too much and/or the inner channel where it rides isn't got left over machining bits stuck down in there (some people were saying bad machining in the center shaft where the center pin goes has bad machining which means you might have to pull the gaskets and run a very small drill thru it to clean it up)

See the center electrode screw, there may be another screw/nut below it, unscrew it, then with a long thing rod push the center post out, look down to see if there are ridges or bits of metal still in there...if there is find a very small drillbit that will fit and NOT hit the threads (if there are any) and gently remove the ridges (if there are any) then reassemble

That's actually NOT a bad little atomizer and at a decent price (how long did it take you to get it from FT??)

Thanks for the info, I tested to coil after I wrapped it, before I put it in. The center pin on top comes out and the piece under it is a spacer, as far as that goes I can't see anything bad going on in there.

As far as this thing goes it looks really good, it's heavy, great finish. It's a very tight fit between the positive post and the wick however.


When I received it, 8 days after ordered, the glass was broken so they are sending me a replacement, it has been 2 weeks and that hasn't left Singapore yet :-/

Yesterday I made a tank out of delrin just BC I wanted to play with this atty and after I got the tank finished I was/am pretty ...... about this thing shorting out.

So it turns out that the center hole was drilled out super crooked and the tube running down the middle was touching and making a short. I had to use a drill press to machine out the hole and now it's good to go.

I make I new tank of of delrin, the tank s cracked when I got it now it runs great.

Yeah its a trip, it's like it went down the assembly line and everything is very well machined then they handed it off to Stevie Wonder for the finishing touch.
I'm happy now tho, better than its would have been.
