Looking again at your setup I'm wondering where your fill port is. I also noticed that you can run it in dual coil which means you can use an U wick. This were you use one wick and insert both ends through each of your wick ports with one coil.

You than get double wicking for one coil.

500 doesn't work for me though. I've tried that one the most since mesh is much softer and easier to roll but the flavor I get from it taste very metallic

Might be a hot spot somewhere, very common with twisted kanthal coils or kinked single strand kanthal coils.

If you anneal the kanthal prior to winding your coil or wind it under lots of tension you may get better results.

Thanks Maurice...hey what's the importance of test firing coils with NO juice in the tank?

You can't tell if your coils are glowing evenly if there is juice in the wick. A properly adjusted coil should never glow when the wick is wet. Firing it dry, with no juice in the tank, and adjusting the coils, so that everything glows evenly, should be done before filling the tank.

I put a very small fold at one end and roll it up as tight as a I can. Than I keep rolling it between my fingers and than I put between my palms and keep rolling it until it will fit in the slot.... that kinda sounded dirty.

But you just have to keep rolling it between your fingers or palms, like a cigar, until it fits or until your satisfied with the core being solid. At that point if it still won't fit you can trim.

I rebuilt my Pulse G clone this evening, and I nailed a nice build on this one. This was the first time I've used 26ga wire to coil a genesis. It will also be the last time I use anything but 26 ga.

Single coil using 2mm cable with a single wrap of 400 mesh at the top. 3/4 wrap of 26ga for 0.55Ω. Top cap reducer installed.

I can't believe how much easier it is to pulse out the 26ga wire vs. 28ga.

Huge clouds. Huge Flavor. Not a dry hit to be had.

The kayfuns are taking a break tonight. Wish I wouldn't have accidentally filled with 12mg liquid.

I stick to 28 awg, but you do have a point. Can't believe how much I struggled trying to set up my first gennies with 30 awg or even 32 awg. As the current follows the path of least resistance, a lower resistance wire will make the current less likely to jump to the wick. Or, in practical terms, it takes a whole lot less mocking about to get working right. Doesn't hurt that it won't snap as easily either.

Any hints on trapping parallel coils guys, I'm about out of ideas to get a parallel coil secured.

I've managed to get a really nice tight parallel coil in 28g but for the life of me I'm not able to secure it without folding the legs.

I've thought about slotting a couple washers to fit the wire but locating thick tiny washers has eluded me.

Ideas?
