For now, I just want a lower nic real strawberry than the one I have now. I should be able to do that with the TFA flavors I'm getting tomorrow.

If you're not happy with TFA's strawberry flavors, FA's version is very realistic fresh strawberry. I don't often vape strawberries, but when I do, I prefer them to taste like something from the garden.

So many great recipes and hints in this thread. Maybe someone could share some tips on throat hit. Other than raising the PG ratio, are there substances or flavors that be added to accomplish this? Thanks.

Already using Wizard Labs nic? That'll give some throat hit, especially if you've been using milder nic base.

Adding Rum gives a little; Brandy gives more; Whiskey even more. The effect is strongest when it's freshly-mixed. If you like Whiskey flavor, try adding a drop of it directly to a tank of something it would go with.

I've never tried FA's Flash. That's a no-nic base, not a flavoring. Some people claim to get an effect from it when using a small percentage as flavoring in recipes, but FA intends it to be used in place of your nic base. It's specifically made to give throat hit, even without nic.

I've never tried adding Black Pepper, either. It just doesn't sound tasty to me, but some have theorized it could be used to add TH.

Ok, I just wanted to thank you guys.... This thread has converted me.... TFA who? LOL ;)

You know, TFA - provider of flavors that FA hasn't made yet, like Brown Sugar, Plum, Dragonfruit, Cranberry, nutmeg (Holiday Spice), Molasses, Wintergreen, Mountain Dew, White Chocolate... (disclaimer: some of those contain custard notes). I still use quite a few of them to fill gaps in FA's lineup.

I probably should have asked here before ordering it (there I go again), but as it was named "ripe", I figured that it would taste like a fresh strawberry, and I agree, I'd prefer fresh as opposed to candy or syrup. I ordered 4oz. Yikes. I planned to experiment with it a lot and use it as a part-time ADV.

May be ordering from PV sooner than I thought. LOL.

Just ordered...VG from Bullcity, to see if I notice the difference from Wizard Labs' VG like wllmc did with the PG.

finally getting...FA Clove to see if it will replace my TFA Pumpkin Spice that I usually use for clove flavoring

took a chance on...FA Blackberry (yeah, I went there, lol) to see if it's as horrible as the first time I tried. Knock wood, if anything leaks in the mail, it's not this!

had to get... MORE FA Irish Cream! I vape it, put it in coffee, mix it in vanilla-flavored almond milk, make chocolates with it. Ice cream next. mmm-hmmm. More Cocoa, more Vienna Cream, a few others.

since nobody was looking... Added some of Capella's new custard 'version 2'. For $1.15, why not taste for myself if they still have custard note ingredients.

actually searched for... a TFA flavoring that shall-not-be-named. Decided against that one anyway. If I can't talk about it here, what's the fun in vaping it. Thought about FA Reggae Nights, but decided I was just in a goofy mood.

weirdest flavor on the way...Flavor West Rice Krispies. I swore off the company, but my curiosity on this one is just too strong. If it's really rice flavor, it might be great in a horchata recipe. If it smells like diacetyl, well, $1.15 won't break the bank.

The shall-not-be named flavor from TFA and Reggae Nights from FA have very similar aromas. I've yet to try RN from FA, though I would imagine that's what they were going for with the flavor based on smell. I have a bottle, but it's just not my thing really. I think it was accidentally sent by ECX with a larger order I had made for samples, so not a waste, but just not something I'm going to vape.

FW's Rice Krispies most likely does have Acetoin, Acetyl Proprionyl or both. I know the one from OneOnOne Flavors does and many of their flavors are very similar to FW. It's not CAP VC v1 saturated, but it's definitely present. Mix % ranges from 10-17% for the FW from what I've seen. I know the one from OOO needs 10-12% to really have much of a taste as it's not an overpowering flavor.

HIC, you are an amazing resource. We are fortunate you take the time to share your expertise with the rest of us.

Thank you for the info. I put Flash in my cart for the next order. Seems that I saw someone mention Everclear as a substance that could be added for this purpose. Had you heard of that?

Hah! I have this coming as well, my only FW flavor in the order. Wanted to compare it against Cookie as the base for Fruity COPYRIGHTDMCA. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

While I was picking up some NF Ginger for your cookie recipes, a reviewer sold me on NF Brown Sugar. Said it was in their top 5 of over 300 flavorings, and nothing like TFA's. We shall see. Also had to grab some FE Oats, at $1.99/10ml it's totally worth gambling on. I'd LOVE an oatmeal raisin or oatmeal butterscotch cookie.

Hey y'all. Who are NF and FE? I want that oatmeal cookie!!

For throat hit, if the Flash doesn't work out for you, or the FA flavors that HIC mentioned, you can get Capsicum Heat from Flavor West. NOW... with that said, I got it for exactly that reason. Throat Hit. As it turns out, everything I've mixed so far has a fine TH for me. I ordered this before I ever mixed anything and have yet to use it. If you do get it, I would certainly mix a dilution of it and use a very tiny amount, still, or even the famous "toothpick dip and twirl". Everything I've read about it, including the warning it has with it, tells how it is HEAT. Not something to vape on it's own (Jimi D has a YouTube video of it, lol). I don't care if you're the kind of person that can eat 12 ghost chili peppers without blinking an eye!

Last night, something I was vaping could have used more TH. I'm thinking about adding it to something when I have time to mix this weekend, just so I'll have better info on how to use it exactly. I may start with 0.5 (or less) to 1 ml in a 10ml PG solution. I asked Ben from Pure Vapes when I saw him in the vape shop one time what they use, he said Capsicum Heat. This was long before I started DIY.

Just be safe. :)

This has been a public service announcement from Huckleberried.

Just letting people know that MBV doesn't use FW anymore (in case anyone cares)
