. By the way just added fw candy cane to my shopping cart going to try this kringles curse clone already.

I have TFA Peppermint, and I solo tried the FW Candy Cane
They taste almost identical, flavor wise,... but
I did find that I have to use a higher % (15%) of the FW CC to get the same flavor as I do with the TFA Peppermint at 1-2 %, .. and CC is still a softer flavor at those percentages than TFA
But, I find all FW to be weaker flavors and that they need a high % .. (they recommend starting with 15%)
Those are the only two I have tried so far, and I sure prefer using less flavor %.

Hey Slots, didn't you once post a recommended % for Liquid Amber?

Nope, never tried it solo ... but I did mix some up solo the other night, so I'll know soon.
I did mention that I like to add a dab to my fruits, because it helps to blend and bring flavors together, and gives a juice "body"

I think HIC tried it solo, and wasn't impressed.
It is a super mild tobacco that you can add to a juice for the benefits, without tasting it.

Hey Slots, didn't you once post a recommended % for Liquid Amber?

Here's ya go...

FA Liquid Amber (or 'Amber' according to purevapes) - mmmm!

If you like fruit recipes with a touch of Brandy, or you like baked fruit flavor, I think you'd like Liquid Amber. The descriptions I've read are all correct - "warm and smooth flavor with a hint of fresh fruit and a delicate sourness in the aftertaste". At 3% standalone, it gives a hint of (apple? pear? is it even fruit?), a bit of sweetness you taste in the far back of your throat, and undertones of sour throughout. The sour is not a sweet-tart candy effect, but more like some good alcoholic beverage - a fruit-based one, for sure.

As a small addition to Apple and Fuji, it "complexifies" the flavor. That is too a word, lol. Using mostly Liquid Amber with a touch of Pear, Apple, or Apricot - the touch of fruit flavor is still there. It becomes pear- (apple-, apricot-) flavored Amber. Though it reminds me of adding Brandy, it's a much smoother effect. So if Brandy kicks too hard for you, you'll prefer this, and you'll get a similar effect.

I added Liquid Amber to the tank of Dusk that I could hardly taste, and the Dusk flavor was revealed. The combination was just okay - but the fact that Amber had that effect interests me.

Misswish - I wonder if it would give your peach the flavor you want.

As a standalone flavor, anywhere from 2-5% tastes great to me. I didn't bother trying higher, but I have a feeling it would be fine far past that. I can not vape plain Brandy, but this is an all-day-vape type of flavor for me.

edit: I want to make the flavor of "Sparkling Ice Orange-Mango". It's a lightly-flavored sparkling water. Mostly Orange (maybe Mandarin), tiny bit of Mango, Champagne for bubbles, maybe Koolada, and Liquid Amber for the tart bit. I suppose I could make a 'flat' version now, since I still need Champagne.

How great to see so many lurkers popping in!

I think Liquid Amber would go great with the lighter, brighter tobaccos. I'll bet it's especially good with 7 Leaves. It was good with Royal, but Royal is a little too tobacco-y for me.

I do best with sweets, cocktails, desserts....working on a special Rum recipe lately.

What's your latest mix?

Here is a Tobacco recipe that has become a favorite of mine. I tend to like the dark stuff more than most so YMMV.

Black Maxx
Maxx Blend 2%
Walnut 1%
Perique Black 0.5%
Black Fire 0.5%

As you can imagine this is really dark and smokey, but with VT nic it's mildly sweet. The Walnut, for me, isn't really discernible but brings out a nice woody tobacco flavor. I do a four hour heat steep then give it a week or two to mellow.

Hey down in how's it going. Was wondering if you had any ideas or things you like to do with 7 Leaves ?

Hi :) I haven't done much with 7 Leaves. I did 2% when I first mixed it and thought it was good but it just didn't interest me much. Later I remixed it at 4% and liked it better, the Perique is more upfront.

Haven't had time to do much mixing lately, still have several tobaccos sitting here that I haven't got to yet.

Totally agree FW takes a higher percentage! It takes 10-12% FW Candy Cane for me to get the strength of FA or TFA at 3-4%. I kept using Candy Cane for such a long time because it's the sweetest of them all - and because it doesn't melt plastic, even at 15%, even an EVOD. My partner still sucks down a lot of it, hooked on the Kringle clone, but with VT nic and FA Peppermint, I'm almost as happy with the flavor. Vaping 12% flavoring is just not an option for me, darn it.

Warning: tobacco novice ahead!

Since Hermit publicly chastised me (LOL, I kid..) for switching to fruit flavors during my tobacco stint, I got out two tobacco blends I had mixed earlier. I liked both and was patting myself on the back for making something pretty good. But:

I passed the first to my partner to try, "Hey, try this tobacco." I got confused looks and eventually "!#$$, what is this - jalapeno?" I thought it was pretty good! But this morning, now all I can taste is jalapeno  LOL! I think I went too high on the Desert Ship in that blend. The other one is a hit, though - Latakia with Burley.

I like Latakia as a main flavor. I was unsure when I smelled the bottle. It smells like pretty strong tobacco to me, definite dark tobacco scent. I mixed it 2% standalone. Finally, one with no vanilla, no anise, no maple, no cocoa, no honey, no caramel. I'm glad to find a tobacco flavoring without those. I find Latakia solid and neutral - not as dark as I expected, not too smokey, not ashy, not too bright, not too sweet or bitter, definite tobacco - but not especially rich tobacco, strong enough to take on other flavors, agreeable enough to not overwhelm them. Slow exhale gives more tobacco flavor, and quicker puffs give the slightest, fleeting sweetness on exhale that's instantly gone and fun to pursue. I prefer standalone Latakia to standalone MaxxBlend; it's less dry-cigarette tasting to me, much more complex.

I really like 1% Latakia with 1% Burley. This will be the first tobacco blend (unless you count TFA RY4D plus AP as a tobacco blend) that I'll make in a larger batch than sample-size. The two flavors together gather all the flavor notes I expect in tobacco without adding food/drink flavors I don't expect. It's smooth, flavorful, definitely tobacco, nothing in there I don't like. Burley adds a smoothness I'd call slightly creamy if it were a food flavor. I taste a richer, deeper, moister tobacco than Latakia. Plain Burley is too strong for me, but combined equally with Latakia - it's just right for me. Finally!

If any of you tobacco experts would give your opinion and description of 1% Latakia + 1% Burley, I'd sure be grateful! Descriptions online for these 2 flavors completely disagree with me (and each other), so I'm curious to know what you guys with tobacco knowledge think of it. (Even if you think it's terrible, it won't stop me from liking it, so please be brutally honest if you think I'm nuts.)

My bottle of CamT is smirking at my fear and reluctance to try it. What a weird aroma that one has. Um - gonna mix my bigger bottle of Latakia + Burley and turn the CamT label to face the wall. lol!

Thanks Rocket & Slots & HIC. I thought someone had posted the Liquid Amber % for use as an additive, rather than standalone. I'll just need to play with it.

I was using 0.5% as an additive to fruits - same level I'd use of Brandy or Rum to add a little "something" to a recipe. Less is barely there, and by 1% it starts to slap around the lighter fruit flavors.

I liked Latakia, too (no Burley on hand). Boyfriend, not so much. He's been sampling Virginia since yesterday and liking it.

Virginia tastes to 'yellow' and a little 'green' for me, like immature tobacco that wasn't fully dried. I know it's popular and supposedly a main flavor in American cigarettes, but this ex-smoker of American cigs doesn't like it much. I can't stand it plain, but maybe okay as a minor ingredient. I also don't like 'black' tobacco flavors, ones that taste burnt, ashy, and bitter, like a burning pipe. It's really hard to find toasted 'brown' tobacco flavor, but I think Burley is a light-mid 'brown', and Latakia is mid brown, so they're working well together for me.

yellow, green, brown, black - obviously I'm no good describing tobaccos. You know what would be helpful? Scratch and sniff cards for flavorings. I can tell by sniffing a bottle if I'll like it or not. I'd pay (a little) for scent samples, and I'd sure save a lot of money on flavorings. It would be especially useful for tobaccos, because online reviews and descriptions are wildly variant on most of them.

Have anyone tried the citrus mx or Forest fruit mix. Just ordered a couple 30ml of fuji. That stuff is good. Fresh is ok. 3 days it is heaven 3% plus 1 drop in 10ml

My standalone percent for Citrus Mix is 3%. I liked 3% on Forest Fruit, but 2.5% was a little better to me. I use 2% Forest Fruit with 1% Fresh Cream - or with .5 Fresh Cream and .5 Meringue - to get a milder dark berries flavor.

Did you try the Walnut trick with Banana? Add .25 or .5% Walnut to it, and it makes the Banana taste stronger. At least it does for me.

That would be interesting.... I'm thinking of dipping some toothpicks in some of my FA to keep in a lil baggie in my purse.... I may be a flavor addict.....

When I get a new flavor in I usually sniff it and then put a dab on my finger to taste. Interestingly enough I found I can't do that with TFA flavors - all I get from them is a strong burn feel with no flavor!
