Well I'm just a few weeks away from my one year make. I've kind of backed off vapping fourms/chat as some may of noticed.

At first I bought a normal kit, and then went on to buying loads of liquids. Spending a ton not knowing/ignored how much I spent. Yet, I know that I spent a but load.

Then I got into mods, and have a BB/BB PT/ SB/ DBSB/ The woody. Also got into buying all sorts of atoimzers, and adapters to use them. Topping it off buying all sorts of batteries. Trying to find the best what works for me.

Then I got it in my head to start selling them on the net, and my sisters bar that she owns. I bought more or less 4 liters of American 24Mg(when mixed), and 50 disposable 801 kits that cost 5 dollars a pack from china.

Sold a few, and more less got the feeling that I was going to have to babysit all these people. Cause they don't use the net requiring me to be the internet of knowledge. Also got a little busy working on a few projects. Dropping the big plan of not that I don't want to, or that I have not had the time to do it.

Anyways, I've gotten really good at mixing liquid. To where I can make all my fav liquids in under a min when I got the simple mixer down. I also love the disposable 801 atomiers which happen to be a close copy to joye 801s. They happen to work really well at 3.7v, and with the huge carts on them last for a while.

i use my Woody PV the most with the SB coming in on a little distant 2ed. I've gotten so used to them that I use them in public without even thinking twice about it anymore. I just don't care if people know what it is, or I'm trying to stealth vape. Which not thinking about vapping/just doing ends the stealth vapping practice.

I have a few LR 510s that I bought forever ago that I use maybe an hour out of the week. Or maybe a 901 atomizer that I bought 3/4s of a year ago.

I don't know, I guess what I'm saying is that vapping is like my old favorite pack of smokes now. I know what I like, and I'm not tempted to change up my ways anymore. Kind of how when I was a smoker I just bought one brand/one style of cigs.

Which I can say THANK YOU GOD vapping is now super ....ing cheap. Higher discharge batteries recharge over/over again, and I don't have to worry about swapping them out.

Say 50 dollars in batteries per year

Buy in liters of e-liquid- from china it's about 65 dollars + Shipping I think I have used 2 and a half over this year.

flavors are cheap, and can be found in places like walmart-say 50 per year of cheap flavoring

50x801 kits about 300usd shipped. Which come with a 280mah battery/charger/atty/2 blank carts.

So in the end if I keep up this stile of not buying anything. Which I just really don't see myself doing(no wants/need). I'm around 600 dollars per year. Which is ULTRA CHEAP compared to smoking. Even when I started 15 years ago(or so) it costed a but load more than this.

Just money wise it's stupid to smoke. Vapping can be trouble/hassle free. To me that happened when I became content on what I have.

One question - what do you do with the liquid that you don't like their flavor anymore?
I got 100 ml of coffee and 100 ml of cherry that I liked in the beginning but not anymore, so now 200ml of 18mg juice are just sitting and I hate to get rid of them...

Here are a few ideas...

1) Use them for mixing. Cherry goes very will with quite a few flavors. You could use it to make Cherry Cola, Cherry Cheesecake, Cherry Vanilla Pipe Tobacco, etc. The same goes for coffee! Mix it with some vanilla or chocolate liquids/flavoring. I would advise, that you start out doing this in very small batchs. Like a 3ml total mixed at a time till you find a combo you like, then make it on a larger scale.

2) The Classifieds! Sell or trade them off for others you do like. This might be a bit difficult with you being in Qatar, but not impossible.

3) Get others there in your area into vaping and sell/give them some of it to get them started.

I gave it all to my close friends(3 of them). With all the stock normal batteries that I don't use anymore.

It gets me away from smelling cig smoke when they are around. So in my vew total worth it lol.

They really only vape when I'm around cause they forget about it. They just enjoy the flavors every once in a while. Instead of all the time like myself.

DaMulta, we have missed you! Congratulations on the Year Benchmark, it is totally amazing how fast it's gone by...have a friend in a near-by town that has done about what you accomplished, found his niche and does sell some stuff, but mostly just keeps himself stocked up pretty cheap, and no way wants to get involved in baby-sitting a bunch of newbies (ultimate job of a vendor!) so your story seems familiar.
After the big push to find the 'perfect' choice, vaping does pretty much settle in to a favorite past time, and we never seem to lose track of the reason we did the switch in the first place.
Now find it a comfortable place to be without raising a big stink! Priceless.
Thanks for stopping in.

ECF is BAD news if you want to stop buying products. If I HADN'T found this place, I probably would have been happy with my RY4 on my 510, but THEN, I HAD to try V4L because they looked cool....hated the flavors and carto's are scary...then, I HAD to have the Ego..loved it! Then, I HAD to have the GGSS..too big...traded it for the GG Slim I HAD to have...didn't love it..currently selling it in the classified section..then, I ordered the Precise...loved it! Then, I HAD to see what all the fuss was about with Tasty Vapor...didn't ship to Canada...started ordering through my brother in Michigan...loved it! Then, TV DID ship to Canada...still loving it...then, I HAD to have 510 carto's...okay. Then, I HAD to try drip tips...love them! Then, HAD to have a Mr. Puffy..not my bag...just sold it in the Classified...

Anyone see why I've spent over 2000.00 in a few months? Me too!

All that being said, yes, I think I could be perfectly happy with my Ego, Precise and Tasty Vapor liquids. So, why am I still here?

Pay it forward. There are a lot of people who are struggling financially and could really use any liquid/hardware that you don't need. You don't have to give it away all at once. If you have some smaller bottles, you can break it up into 15-30ml portions and help out a lot of people. There's a link in my sig.

Great post DaMulta! Amazing how time has flown by and how much things have changed in just a year. I hope you'll keep hanging out and help out some of the other people who are just learning the ropes. Your knowledge is valuable here! Plus, we DO have fun on this forum!

Just to add to how things have changed for the cost of vaping: From an August of 2008 post on the forum: "A Loongtotem kit which will run you $250 to start, a PartySmoker Party pipe which will run you $250 to start, a Janty Kissbox Classic which will run you $140 or so to start, and some Ruyan Throwaway Cigars which you cna pick up on the cheap for about $146 for 5, you might aLso want ot htrow in the GreenCig which will run you about $150, then pick up a DSE 901 for abotu $50, then you'll need some smokin juice- probably 3 bottles which will run ya abotu $60, and soem spare atomizers for all yourdevicesm abd some cartridges and extra batteries which will run another $100-$150."

Looks like there wasn't a spell checker back then either, LOL :2cool:

I've also settled in with some favorites, but love buying mods which has become an addiction similar to buying shoes! BAD!

With the FDA crapola still up in the air, I stocked up big time on everything (around 300 atomizers in my cabinet!). I still hang on to liquids that aren't a favorite. I figure I'll either doctor them up (have a large box full full of FlavourArts, LorAnns and Capellas), trade them off for what I need or give it away after there is a decision made. Better safe than sorry. Today, I'm adding 100mg nicotine liquid to my cabinet, high drain batteries and that's about it. Ok, maybe just one more mod...

DaMulta,
You've only got a month on me. My only difference is I didn't get into the same types of bats you did. Although I read and enjoyed your posts on them.

I've settled into a GLV for the 5v expereince. And since the LR attys came out I use the SB and BB with them. At home I use a BB passthough.

Like you I make my own juice. I get VG from Wally Workd and have used up only about a third of the PG gallon I ordered from a local pharmacy. I think I got that about seven months ago.

Now I'm only buying flavorings, nic and Joye/Janty 302s along with LR510s adn LR801s.

I've reached the contentment phase with PVs. I still visit ECF, but do not spend over 30% of the time I used to here. I really have no concerns over the drama with the government and the antis any more. PVs have become part of the culture and will only get bigger. And if there is any real restrictions there is always BigJimW's forum. But I really do not see any of that becoming a serious problem.

Tobacco is a thing of the past for me now. Vap'n is my brand now and I don't see that changing....... Until the next new toy that is just awesome!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, there is a spending curve that I think many people go through with PV's. I'm 7 weeks in and I have spent about $300 so far, but I'm just about at the end of my experimentation with the hardware. Eventually, you settle in on a battery type, whether you will use cartos or atties, which brands you will buy, etc. Some people seem to take it to extremes and have like 10 models sitting in their drawer that they don't use. However, in the longrun there should be no way that you pay as much for vaping as even a 1 pack per day smoking habit.

I am getting my liquids from TV with the doubler bottles and that works out to about $8 per ounce, without having to mix anything myself. Cartos will cost me about $1 apiece and last about 3-4 days. Even vaping 3ml per day it works out to about $35 per month for the cartos and liquid, plus a little more whenever I need to replace batteries. There honestly isn't the need to spend much more than that.
