Just a note - I was under the assumption the Q-Cig atomizers might not take well to the "dry-burn" method, but I had one get solidly gummed, and adapted to an 808 battery, I gave it a shot, pulsing the button to avoid the cutoff and blowing out the 'smoke' (and smoke) until I could keep a red glow up for a few seconds.

A bit stinky, but the 'burning plastic' smell never advanced to a *real* 'burning plastic' smell, so I suspect that was really just a ton of caked on juice-glop. [Oh well.. If you've ever used filtered holders with real cigarettes.. at least it takes a couple weeks of this to build up the amount of gunk I'd see from half a pack.] And behold, the draw was completely restored, and any 'burnt' taste was mild and didn't linger after a refill.

In the future, knowing it works, I'll probably give them an alcohol rinse rather than suck on a trace of burnt crud at all. But I was expecting something a lot more acrid and dangerous than the result.

Helpfully, the adapter - though I was a bit concerned the plastic/enamel casing of it might melt - isolates the battery from the brunt of the heat... Guess a passthrough would also be useful as a "cleaning cable" without the risk of heating a battery violently.

Also, previous to this, cleaning in some extremely hot vinegar started the paint bubbling off, so if you're looking to scrape yours clean - this was its fourth or fifth good boil total (in plain water/alcohol prior), but the vinegar might have sped that a bit.
