Question about a Possible Setup

So I'm scared to death of batteries now after reading a lot about them. However I'm willing to go the distance with a Box Mod with authentic batteries. So here is what I want to try out.

IPV 2S with the new Aspire Atlantis with 1 Ohm coils. I know I have to run 30amp batteries to run the tank which is fine, I just want to make sure that this setup will work and is safe.

*Side-Note: I want to start building my own coilds with RDA's and such but I wanted something to use that was prefabricated until I feel 100% safe with what I am doing*

The IPV 2 is a regulated device so it has safety features built in. You don't "have" to run 30 amp batteries.

You run into safety problems when you start using mechanical mods (no safety built in) YOU are the only safety. With your 1 ohm coils you're only pulling 4.2 amps from the battery.

I used to have the same fear as you, and everyone should go through this fear so it encourages themselves to learn about battery safety. However, if you buy a Sony VCT5 battery that has an amp limit of 30 amps, you'll be fine with an IPV2. No setup can be run on an IPV2 50-75 Watt device that could gather that kind of amperage at1 ohm or even their .5 ohm coils if I recall correctly. With an IPV2/IPV2S, it's really a "put battery in, vape it and relax" sort of deal. Where you really need to learn about battery safety is when you dive into mechanical mods or unregulated box mods with high wattage outputs that don't have any sort of built in protection. They purely rely on how good the battery is and what it's amp limit is.

You'd be fine with a VCT5 battery, the IPV2S and the Aspire Atlantis. Not to mention, you'll be peaking that Atlantis at 45watts (maximum) before you start getting overwhelmed or have dry hits/burnt hits. With that being said, you'll never be anywhere near 30 amps and you could even use the .5 ohm coils for bigger clouds if that's your aim. Either way, continue reading about battery safety and educate yourself about it, more than you listen to panic stories about how they explode in people's faces. Be confident in what you learn.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm big into clouds, it's what finally got me off the cancer sticks. I am always trying to get better clouds and flavor. After this info I feel confident Grabbing these two products (with a sony VCT5) and using the included .5 coils. I'll definitely be going to the workshops at the local Vaporium near me to learn all I can, hands on, so I can safely start building my own setups. My current setup is an MVP 2 with an Aspire Nautilus Mini, so I wanted to upgrade to something more powerful, flavorful, and with bigger clouds. Again, thank you guys for all the info and being there for the "noobs".

I'd be very cautious buying a VTC5 battery many fake / re wrapped lesser quality cells labeled as vtc5's are on the market.
No reputable vendor that I am aware of has authentic vtc5's in stock or has had them in stock for quite some time.

20a CDR batteries;

Only buy batteries from reputable vendors / dealers to avoid the many fake, re wrapped, marketing hype rated batteries.

I have an older post on the forums that one of the admins gave me a ton of info for research purposes. She also posted 4-5 reputable battery vendors that carry Authentic products. My battery purchases would be from one of them. These were the ones she told me to use.

I myself am going with a regulated high wattage box mod simply for the safety factors built in. Most of the horror battery stories come from mech nubies doing stuff they shouldn't do. That is the category I would be in if I used a mech right now. Not saying I'll never own one, but for now I'll just keep it safe and let the mech guys call me whatever names they wish to. At least one of those names won't be handless or faceless!!!!!!

^^^ This. I like Safety. I have a one year old at home, So I want the safest devices around. I don't need an accidental explosion anywhere near her. Also for mysake, I don't want to lose any digits or have giant holes blown into my hands or face or get severe acid burns. Once I'm more comfortable with the mechs I'm cure I'll get into them as a hobby, but a good Box mod is (ALMOST) idiot proof.

The new high powered regulated devices can do everything (almost) that a mechanical can do, but they do it safer, much safer. You'll never hear any names from me.

Ok one more question and it's jsut a safety thing. So I'm reading that they made the IPV 2S waterproof which I guess is a cool feature, but how do they deal with venting for the battery? Is there none at all? So it raises a few flags in my head. Or are the safety features good enough on it that I don't have to worry about the vents. I just feel like it's a sealed unit with 0 heat and battery venting. I know they IPV 2 had battery venting but also suffered from paint, dent, and touch sensor issues. Is it better to get the IPV 3 (so much overkill at 150W for me) which I'm assuming has venting. Not sure though not a lot of people talking about the venting.
