IT would work but soldering is going to be a issue. To do it at home you would need a hot air rework station. A board pre warmer is also going to be needed. Even then it is not a easy package to work with because the pads are so small and not hand solderable since all the pads are on the bottom of the chip. You will also have to design the circuit that chip requires some added components. Learn how to make your own circuit boards with your designed circuit is also a must if you want to do it all at home. So it can be done but it for sure is not going to be easy starting from scratch. Submitting your design to a company will make and solder on your components is pretty expensive but not too bad. the more boards you buy the cheaper it gets. But your still going to have to learn a PCB circuit design program which that in it self can take quite a bit of time. You could get a place to design the circuit too. But thats going to make it even more pricey. Having said all that you might want to look at other options out there in packages that are easier to solder.
