Question about atomizers. Why no filter?

Reading the anti-cotton thread, someone mentioned fiberglass in the silica wicks. Well I'm sure the SS has minute metal particles in the vapor. Maybe I'm wrong.

So I got to thinking. Take an AGA T for instance. Why not put some type of small round filter of some sort on the inside, on the inner top of the head where the drip tip is? Some sort of material that would trap the fiberglass and metal particles if there are actually any and allow the vapor to go through.

I realize the stuff would probably be completely clogged in 1 day and need to be changed.

I think the particles would be smaller than the vapor itself, if they're in there. You could always see..send it to a lab and have it tested even.

An effective filter would choke the draw so much that it would be nearly impossible to vape. Also, there probably isn't much particulate matter in the vapor regardless of the wick you use. Remember that everything around the coil is completely saturated in liquid, so any free particles are not going to move. They'd have to be so small that they ride inside the atomized droplets of e-liquid, which are extremely tiny. If this were actually happening, someone would have come down with some serious respiratory condition by now.

More people are worried about silica particles than anything else, but there is no evidence that we inhale enough of it to be an issue. Fiberglass is sometimes substituted for silica in very cheap devices and wick material, but it seems pretty rare. Fiberglass will melt and burn when torched while silica will not. I don't see how there would be metal particles in an SS wick if you wash it before use. SS mesh is made from tiny woven wires and has tradionally been used for filtration itself.
